i've heard some view points that state, atheists are generally more moral & caring for fellow humans, than are theists.. i'd like to hear some personal stories of life changes and quality of life after you became atheist.

i have a simple theory that may explain this.. i'll explain my theory if you'd like, after a few responses, as i really am interested in the personal changes that you experienced.. thank you very much, and i look forward to your stories..

Oubliette - I did not use the word "Rigidity" to Ascribe anything Negative to Science, rather a Positive Thing.

Stiffness, the property of a solid body to resist deformation, which is sometimes referred to as rigidity.

There was a Point in my Studies, that I viewed the Old Testament as Reliable and the New Testament, as Fallible.. However then I came to a Realization.. The Christians have Manipulated the New Testament, in order to Support their Doctrines, and the Jews have Manipulated the Old Testament, to Support their Doctrines.

The council of Nicea, is a whole other story.. WHO KNOWS what all they Did to Hide & Destroy texts.

I have to come to another realization though.. When ever something is Widely Discredited, spoken of Distrustfully, Despised, hidden.. This is where Truth can be Found.

The Book of Enoch, The Epic of Gilgamesh,Plato's Writings, The first & Second books of Adam & Eve, all contain Far Fetched fantasy like stories.. But when you begin to Piece things together a Different story Develops.

Like the Bible, there is always Lies mixed in With Truth, but when you allow Certain Principles, such as Love to Guide your Path, then things Become Clearer.

There are 2 Quotes that Express my view :

OneEyedJoe - You make Valid Points. I wish that I had a better grasp on Science, but I admit that I'm clueless regarding Science. - I appreciate it's Rigidity though, and if all would attend "Sunday Science" as opposed to "Sunday Church" the world would be a Much Better place.

I also appreciate your point, regarding "Evidence" of God.. God has been Silent, over the Past 2,000 Years, and while I have a View Point on the reason for this, I will leave it alone.

However it seems to me that if Religions taught Love,Forgiveness,Equality & Righteousness the Situation would be much Different.

Let me ask you Joe.. What is your View Point on Prophecy? Do you categorize fulfillment of Prophecy as a Unknown, or do you disagree that any Prophecy has ever been fulfilled ('m not talking about 1914 either = ). I know that this too is a Heavy question, but I'd like to know your General View on Prophecy.

The problems Bible believers have with Atheists is the burden of proof is on the Believer and we just do not have enough proof.

i recently posted a post telling this board my athesit coworker stumped me with questions about the validity of the ark story and i just cannot stop talking to her.

i love hearing her side and point of view which in the past i would have dismissed as "satanic" thinking.

There have been a lot of Posts on Animal's Lately.. Rightly So, Animal Cruelty and Murder is Detestable.

We have a Very Limited scope of Animals and the Story of the Flood in Genesis.. There are other Ancient "Apocrayphal" books, that shine additional Light on these Stories.

Jasher 4:18 "“After the fallen angels went into the daughters of men, the sons of men taught the mixture of animals of one species with the other, in order to provoke the Lord”

Enoch 7:5,6 “began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish”

The Old Testament contains associated reference to genetic mutations, which developed among humans following this activity, including unusual size, physical strength, six fingers, six toes, animal appetite for blood and even lion-like features among men (2 Samuel 21:20; 23:20).

If Fallen Angel's Successfuly created Evil Human Hybrids, they can certainly create Evil Animal Hybrids.

What happened, to the Earth Once Nephilim began to Increase?

Enoch 7 " when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another’s flesh, and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones."

What the Bible says about the fate of The Nephilim :

Genesis 6:4 " The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, "

If The Fallen Angels Cross Breed animals Before the Flood, and Fallen angels still exist today, they can certainly do the same thing.

This begins to Explain Animal Sickness, Animal Violence toward one another & Evolution.

Smiddy - Think about all of the Books in the Bible.. There is a lot of Killing,hate,lust,greed,etc.. Naturally Since the Bible says "All Scripture is Inspired of God" they believe it.. The Bible Says it, about it self, so it must be True Right?

So you are Right, if there were No Religous Texts, we would either be worse off, or in the same position.. Humans would make up a bunch of stuff, to make themselves appear as God's.

So I'll revise the Question, If we only had One Holy Book That Consisted of the Following, would you be an Atheist?

1. The Ten Commandments.

2. The Sermon on The Mount.

I understand that many Atheists, have a deep understanding of Science, and Evolution.. But, if there was not a Holy Book, that Proved that God is Evil, or Does not Exist.. Would Atheist's start seeking to understand all of the Biblical Contradictions and Logical Fallacies?

Oubliette - Many Witnesses or other Hard Core Religions claim to "love" their neighbors, but in Reality they hate them, and they are only concerned with their View Point, and their appearance. So Moral in terms of Love vs. Hate.

Caedes - I dont think the Question is which group is "better". The question is What Positive & Negative Effects does organized religion have on individuals..

If Humans are Innately good and caring, for no other reason than their Conscience, what happens when some one else tells them what is right & wrong, and then what happens when these people return to trusting their own Hearts & Consciences. I am not an Atheist, but I do not Judge them, and I do not feel animosity towards their differing view points.

Jeremiah 7:22 " For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices."

Psalm 40:6 " Sacrifice and offering you did not desire-- but my ears you have opened -- burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require."

1 Samuel 15:22 " But Samuel replied: "Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."

Psalm 51:16 " You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings."

Isaiah 1:11 " "The multitude of your sacrifices-- what are they to me?" says the LORD. "I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats."

So Which is it? Does God Delight in Sacrifice, or Does Man?
