We witnesses help eachother out. So there never would be any tent city. There would always be brothers and sisters in a better situation left in the country and they would help those in need.

No one ever asked me to contribute... nor checked if i ever did contribute something... nor asked me ever if i have ever contributed something. Its anonymous... its voluntary...its unknown.
So is there sometimes a page (at least once a year) in our magazines that explains the ways how people can contribute if they like? Sure there is.
But the donate ... Donate... Donate mantra is no priority. We make about 150 different magazines a year. If in one or two the ways how people can contribute if they like are spelled out its only logical. Also there is no Donate! Donate... please Donate button all over our one and only official international website. As a matter a fact none can be found.
Can an organisation as ours do without any money? Ofcourse not! To supply many millions of people with our literature and in order to organise our meetings, relief efforts, building projects and more...money is simply needed. But its not our priority, simply because we never have to worry about the cashflow.

the former home of an insurance company will now be used to store bibles by a christian sect.. jehovah's witnesses have bought 1 elstree way in borehamwood, formerly known as pinnacle place, from cardif pinnacle for 4,928,000.. the building will be used by the international bible students association, a corporation of the jehovah's witnesses which distributes bibles and other religious literature.. the non-profit organisation currently operates out of properties throughout mill hill and borehamwood, with headquarters in the ridgeway in mill hill.. it employs 700 people in printing, storing and distributing religious literature throughout britain, europe and africa.. a spokesman for the jehovahs witnesses said the association had outgrown its existing premises and had bought the large building to consolidate its operations.. it will use the new acquisition to store magazines, pamphlets and bibles as well as making full use of the office space.. however it will continue to maintain its headquarters in mill hill, where the literature is printed.. the sale went through in december and the international bible students association is currently preparing the building so it can move in.. jehovahs witnesses are best known for their door-to-door evangelical work, offering bible literature and recruiting and converting people to their beliefs.. the spokesman for the movement said: we are all about bible education and we print biblical literature to distribute around the world.. the people of borehamwood will probably not notice anything different as we are making no changes to the actual building, which is why we did not need planning permission..

@phizzy Expansion due to consolidation . I am not saying that that they will never move out there. Maybe some point in time they will make plans to move out there completely, but for now they did not yet.

@dozy they are not in the process of closing down Mill Hill nor are there any plans to close it down at the moment.

@Pete Zahut lol i must admit you have a sense of humor. People wont need to 'google' JW.ORG . Every month they get magazines and tracts with JW.ORG and QR codes all over it. In august they will distribute a special JW.ORG tract. Last month they had a JW.ORG Awake! . So those visitors wont use google before they end up on JW.ORG

@Rotten No their traffic (for the main part) is not coming from their own people. As a matter a fact a lot of their own people dont own computers or have no internet access (like those in Africa and parts of asia and south america). Besides that they get about 7 Million unique visitors a week. And each of those visitors look at an average of 8 different pages.
Most witnesses that i know ( in one of the most internet penetrated countries and with the fastest broadband connections) dont visit JW.ORG more than once a month. It would not make sense for 8 million witnesses to visit the site every week, because all that is on it they already have except for a rare news article/update or a short childrens video once every 1 or 2 months
I think (and statistics indicate) that a big chunk of the traffic to JW.ORG comes from non-jw and interested persons.

it was about 200 Million its page 176 (in the dutch version)
