Well spotted. I went through this point with my son when he was still 11. He understands that circular reasoning is false. Now you have to teach your in Laws the same, and if your wife does not know TTATT she will benefit also.

persuading countless generations that it is a virtue to believe incredible things on insufficient evidence, is one of religion's cleverest tricks.. the more incredible the claim; the more flimsy the evidence; the stronger the belief; the greater the virtue.. this is the exact opposite of how we operate in every other aspect of our lives.. rational people must demand objective evidence for everything they are asked to believe.

......is inappropriate to me. Agressive people demand things not rational people. Rational people are more assertive than agressive in my experience and are able to communicate in ways that do not intimaidate others.

I haven't read the article yet, I found a copy of the mag, thrown away in the train station. But my guess is that the article is pointing to Jehovah as your friend, which really means the GB. That's because Jehovah always keeps his promises. What nonesense!
I have read it now, I jumped to the wrong conclusion, but it did say it in the bible teach book that a friendship with Jehovah is the best friendship you could ever have.

It was published by PinkNews, a predominantly gay paper, shame it hasn't hit the mainstream papers. The media are just not that interested in JWs as a religion. The papers always mention blood and paedo issues but not much else, like the shunning and blind obedience to men. We live in hope hey

I think it's less about policing and more about showing a genuine interest in our childrens interests on the internet and spending time with them to build a core set of values. We need to be talking about the internet with them, not watching them when their on it.

have you noticed how the org, and individuals are more concerned about the actual event such as the international conventions, rather than the content of the program?.
i often shake my figurative head (ok, literal one too!
), as i see the all the hype being generated by the act of attending, and think that most are not actually interested in the stuff that will be presented, but are more concerned about simply being there or getting there..... and, they are more focussed on the activity of a campaign, such as a tract work, or invitation hand out, rather than the actual content of the material.. .
Indoctrinated JWs don't have much substance to them anyway, many are robots. While it's true they may look forward to meeting others and the event, I still think many are listening and obeying the content of talks. That's why RCs, are so dangerous, because that's where many decide they are going to reach out to be pioneers or elders, and they give up their career and education goals.
They do listen, even if they are asleep. Aparantly it's a hypnotic state and the information is still going in, Steve Hassan explained it in his book.

Exactly what I was going to do. The WT tell elders to cover up child abuse because it brings reproach on Jehovahs name if it gets out, and they must stay loyal to God's organisation, the same is true of domestic violence, it's hushed up and if the victims speak up or go to the police the get Df'd, like I did.
