  i have come to the conclusion that science cannot prove or disprove the existence of god.

  however the scientific evidence available is compelling enough for me to believe that a creator is responsible for life on earth.. i have read much about powner and understand the work he is doing.

  i am interested in your views as to his credibility.

  I'll agree that it seems that the chemistry is incredibly complex, and maybe even extremely unlikely to happen by chance.-OneEyedJoe

  What Powner is talking about is the formation of nucleotides in the lab, using phosphorous molecules as catalysts.

  

  This process would involve the separation of d-enatiomers and l-enatiomers resulting in a homochiral solution that contains mainly l-enantiomers. The position of the different elements is important in the formation of RNA and DNA and then in living things. Homochiral solutions require an autocatalyst (Soai Reaction) to form, otherwise a racemic mixture is produced. (equal L and D isomers)

  A catalyst that is automated like this is evidence for me that probably a Creator is involved, that's why I draw a different conclusion to you, but I still cannot prove fully that there is a God.

  Anyone Knows/Heard that New Congregation in the UK Don't Qualify for Charitable Status?

  following from cedars blog.. based on what an elder told me, new congregations in uk are not eligible anymore for charitable status.

  i am a member of such new congregation and they dont have charitable status.

  i have searched on http://www.charitycommission.gov.uk/find-charities/ and couldnt find it.

  It's WT taking control of donations slowly. I think there was another elders letter about this. It means all donations go stright to NY. Stop donating, in fact skip the meetings this week and do something fun with the family, like go swimming, or out for a meal.

  rutherford famous "advertise" to the special campain in october for the website jw.org.. how low can we go?!?.

  Getting kicked out.

  sometime this week.

  my parents are getting a lot of heat from the congregation, and tension in my house was already super high.

  i know it's inevitable.

  How did you teach your kids TTATT? How old were they?

  when i first started going on "other" jw websites my head was spinning so i didn't say anything to my kids about what i had read.

  steve hassan's material helped a lot it was when i read that, that i realised i need to free my kids.. i got a lot of advice from jwn too.. my daughter had moved cities and went to the hall we used to visit frequently.

  things changed when she became a member instead of just a visitor.

  I don't give up hope for you either, you are such a nice man, I bet you are a terrific dad. I have just been chatting to my dad now. I couldn't imagine not wanting to speak to him. Your child does not realise what they've lost yet, but soon.

  Why not write a short letter every now and then?

  That's not satisfying to me, so in the lack of any evidence I see no use in entertaining the idea further. Sorry, kinda side-tracked your origonal question- OneEyedJoe

  I intended the whole OP to be a mixture of evidence or not of God, and credibility of Matthew Powner. You did not get side tracked at all, thank you for your perspective. I have pondered on the question......................

  If god Created everything then who created God?

  The only answer I can come up with is that he has always existed and he is infinate. That doesn't really satisfy me to be honest. But the chemistry Powner was talking about satisfies me that there is a Creator.

  Trolleys everywhere in my neck of the woods

  i went to an appointment today and what do you know a trolley.. i couldn't stop and chat, but i have another appoinment thursday, i will go early and have a chat.

  i love this it's great fun chatting to jws whilst being df'd.. any ideas for my presentation?.

  you may look back on this time and wish you had it back to to other things.-Hevean

  Most of my time I spend applying for jobs, and volunteer jobs. It's tedeous repetative and frustrating. To be able to spend an hour here and there helping JWs wake up and plant some seeds is a refreshing break from finding work. Once I get a job, things might change.

  This time I was too busy to talk, court stuff to deal with. More tedious, repetitive and frustrating hassle. But necessary for my son to have contact with me again.

  I have read much about Powner and understand the work he is doing. I am interested in your views as to his credibility. I think he is honest and not trying to get results where there are none, but he seems to think he is going to be able to create life, with his research in his life time. What do I think? I don't know but I am keen to follow his progress.

  What I am convinced of though, is that anything he discovers or creates will not prove God does not exist.

  This youtube was made in 2010, the picture quality is poor and Powner as a speaker could sound more confident and resolute, because what he is saying is chemically accurate. Let me know what you think.

  just a random thought......... i just realised that the religion we know as jw is like fairy floss or cotton candy!.

  appears to be sweet to newcomers, looks light and fluffy and colourful, but it is bad for your health!.

  snowbird, I love Matt 23, I used to read it everytime one of my JC was on the platform with an item.

  Stuckinarut, I think WT is more like a balloon. All shiny and colourful on the outside, filled with nothing but thin air.
