Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?

i know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.

my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.

as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

Julia, I am so sorry to hear about your job loss. You are not a screw up at all. You have helped me loads with my exit. Your are a fabulous writer and your writing style and sentence strucutre is unique and a joy to read. that's why you have been so helpful.

Getting jobs in this economy is frightful, paying a mortgage is stressful too. My thoughts are with you, I hope you find something quick to help you with the mortgage. Just accept anything for now and be fussy when you can pay the bills, welfare in the UK doesn't pay a mortgage I doubt it will in Oz. Just accept the first paycheck that comes your way to keep a roof over your head.

Advice about going to Meetings...................oh why didn't I listen...LOL!!!!!

i have been back to meetings for a month now.

prepared for them all except for when i went on holiday.. todays wt is about jehovah's organisation, it's clear loaded language and manipulation through fear.

i am not perturbed by it in the least.

Thanks Hoab, I spoke to the practice managers and it's all resolved. Mainly cos I have stopped going to meetings now. Kate xx

But she just made me feel uncomfrtable, my intial request was to keep things simple and make things more comfortable for the two of us. I wasn't asking her what days she was in I was asking her what days she was off. It was a spur of the moment request, and I was shaking nervously when I approached her. It would not have mattered if I wasn't back at meetings, I would have boldly entered into friendly chit chat.

After some thought, I made the executive decision that meetings caused my anxiety and not going will help me to remain calm. I do not want to go into my doctors and be ignored by the CoBE, so I will not. I hate this shunning policy and will reamin friendly and chatty with her at all times.

You're right I should not actively ignore or avoid her, it's rude.

everyone knows i have been playing this dating game, and what a fun game it has been.

i have met a few nice guys but remained strictly platonic, and also met some really pushy guys too that just wanted sex.. i have not met mr right yet, but who knows what the platonic guys could evolve into.. it's all a game and anyone who says they don't play games when dating is lying.

does a man always have to make the first move?.

It's proving it though, the fact I feel threatened by it and it's exasperating my condition should cause them all to think twice. I will tell them I have changed my religion because of this and I no longer want to attend meetings. Making certain actions in my life should make the surgery know how it's affected me. Her rudeness needs to be addressed.

Finding a man should not be your priority right now (sorry, that is bossy of me). Focus on the parts of your life that are critical and I bet the right man is going to show up in any case.-JWDaughter

I have been single for four years and stumbled on dating sites by mistake, but I am enjoying them for the moment. My job and my son are my priorities, but having fun is still a segment in my pie chart of life, each segment of life differs in size and can expand and reduce. Fun has always been a segment and dating is a small part of fun, I have hobbies and interests too, like my love of chemistry.

That's kinda where the online dating differs from real world contact. she might be missing out on some great opportunities. - billy

This day and age are different, but the missing opportunities point is a good one, I might take that on board and start actively searching for a guy. Only chatting to guys who approach me is seriously limiting my pool, ther are plenty of fish you see.

Thanks for your posts. I can't be gagged, I have to speak up, so sitting in the KH like a lemon isn't going to happen. I am a joiner innner and speaker upper, that's why my friends love me. For my convictions and internal sense of justice.
