just for the mere fact that i wasn't anger and bitter and ready to declare the gb the sociopathic criminals that so many here ascribe to, my initial question digressed to bickering over ad hominem attacks against the gb and not my beliefs that i'm questioning.
some did give me some help on my questions.
I suppose people come and go on this site.....some with bold statements others just die off.
With different people you get a different site. I have found it's very different here from when I first came.
But I am still here, trying to support others who need my support and ranting about my problems when I need to rant.

i am just venting because my sister has put on facebook that i am no longer "in the truth"!
i have kept a very low profile for years and have silently faded.
many witnesses i have bumped into are very friendly towards me, some from other congregations may not even be aware that i dont go anymore.

our family and friends blame us for the fact that they shun us.
imagine an abusive husband who threatened his wife that if she leaves him he will hunt her down and kill her.
eventually she finds the courage to leave and he carries out his threat.

I don't accept shunning full stop. I talk to JWs whenever I see them. I am polite and friendly and if I have time to stop and chat I express my loss of faith and my reasons. Some JWs will respond and others will shun. But I certainly don't take responsibility for being Df'd and shunned.

so my handle has a typo, it is supposed to be never allowed to be myself but i'm okay with that because it is kind of symbolic of my situation.
as a born-in i have always had expectations forced on me, this is what you are to think, feel and do as a jehovah's witness.
my earliest memories involve being upset that i would die at armageddon because i was bad.
Wow that's terrible to find out, I probably did that to my kids, but as a convert I always expressed my true self which for a long time was a zealous believer who wanted to follow the GB.
I understand now what that did to my kids. I feel so sorry for you and also my kids. Thank you for your story. It's opened my eyes.

a thought struck me...... the very generation (no pun intended) of people who the society is focussing so much attention on, that is the children, should not even be here!
(think caleb and sofia etc).
their parents, who are probably aged between 20 - 40 are the very generation too that should not be here if the societies strict guidance from the 70's and 80's was followed by their parents...ie to not have kids "because the end is soooooo close!".
Good point stuck......my kids should not be here either.
But WT is so family orientated that obviously people had kids.....and many who didn't regret it.

i'm talking about real proof; archeological evidence, state records and primary sources.

my reason for stating the thread is that on occasion some threads do tend to get a little heated here, and maybe this thread will enable us to reflect on the important fact, we are real people and not just dots on a computer screen.. i would love to start the thread with a bang, but nothing of particular interest has happened, only i do hope the weather improves as the climate i live in has been sadly chilly for the time of year, (if you get the deeper meaning).

Thanks for understanding and your apology Gio, it's just unfortunate that everybody doesn't read all the posts, so we never really know everything about the poster.
My son and daughter and I have made plans for the future. They are ever changing but always include us as a family. It make us happy to look forward instead of being bitter about the present.
