what is the(or what was your) main motivation for serving god as a jw(or any christian)?.
a) love for god and genuinely trying to learn more about him and bible truths?.
b) to escape punishment/death at armegddon?.
Batman for me it was niether A or B, it was the love bombing and the sense of community and the lack of it was why I left. I bought into the scripture at John 13.34,35 where it talks about love and how that the love will help us recognise Jesus' true disciples.
I think everyone is a JW for their own unique reasons, some may be similar but faith is something personal.

I agree that the young are not educated properly about politics in this country, but it's really not that hard to see who the rascist parties are. Both the major parties Tory and Labour are not really helping the younger generation get a higher education, find careers and affordable housing and in a good positions to pay off their Uni debts here in Britain. I think that many abstain from voting which could in fact be beneficial for the radical parties.
Having said this, I don't think racist politians will achieve anything, the British public are not that ignorant. Lessons have been learned from Stalin and Hitler, no one like them will ever come into power again in Europe, I just can't see it.

Applied Chemistry, LJMU.
It was an elective module, we had a choice between Astrophysical Chemistry or Alchemy to Ecstacy. These two electives were designed to "give us a break" from the main core modules. Sadly all the teenagers picked the Alchemy module because they wanted to learn about illicit drugs, I picked Astrophysical Chemistry, but the module didn't run because there wasn't enough interest.
I was forced onto the Alchemy module. I learnt it all by writing things down over and over again but I couldn't hold a conversaion with a Doctor about Alchemy because I promtly forgot it all after the exams.
I love organic chemistry, it's fabulous and amazing.

.. the new wbt$ donation arrangement/ jw kingdom hall bank account theft... is a very hot topic right now... the wbt$ is literally going to clean out kingdom hall bank accounts,filled with donations from jws... that theft is going to happen world wide..the wbt$ is going to steal from 7 million plus jw`s... .. we have jw elders here on jwn,that know whats going on... they "serve" in kingdom halls,they are "supposed" to be looking after the welfare of the average jw... they know there is a 4 page letter,only one page will be read to the congregation..the rest will be kept secret... they know the wbt$ is about to steal jw donations..on a world wide scale!!!...
.. i would like to know what you active jw elders are going to do about this??!!...
are you going to let "your" congregation know about the other 3 secret pages?...
Posters here are still acting silly. Both the adjusted continuing montly donation and the possible one time special donation have to be approved through congregation resolution, which means a vote. All of these goofballs shouting "theft!" and "illegal use of already committed funds!" don't seem to understand the concept of the same group of people who made the donations in the first place voting as a group to change the allocation of those funds. - Teary
All I can say is.................................................. delluded. Lots of JWs will see it the same way. They just cannot grasp the fact that donations are not given out to congs to build KHs, they don't grasp it's only a loan, and then only given if the cong can prove they can make repayments. completely indoctrinated, so sad.

My duaghter voted for the first time yesterday. She voted Tory and then complained later on that night about dentists not being on the NHS. She understands that one party can't cater for all her needs, but she leans to the right, and thinks that most people on the dole are lay abouts and should get off their bums and work like her.
She knows enough about politics to know that UKIP are racist. I wouldn't worry too much about them Snare, the majority of voters know they are radical extremists and just as bad as the BNP. UKIP will never come into power even if they do get a few seats here and there.

I am glad you agree, I know some slim, tanned women, that are always hungry and angry. They are JW bitches who are my age with more wrinkles than me, and consumed daily about their appearance. They seem like they've permantly got PMT. They are also very insecure when their husbands talk to sisters. One husband actually cheated on his wonderful looking wife, no surprise she was always in a bad mood trying to stay great looking.
We need balance in our lives, yes okay................I am on here too much I need to get some balance myself

I agree with the Chemistry point. It's a linear subject so we can work things out like nomenclature, moles, chemical reactions, we can draw pictures of atoms and molecules. But learning a bunch of unrelated facts is much harder indeed.
We had a module about alchemy and it was just the facts and medicines. I struggled with that. Repetition for me was the key, writing it out over again.
