  Somebody please tell me, funeral for a disfellowshipped child

  i looked at our little local paper today and saw a young man had died.

  he was the 20 year old son of jw's that used to be very dear friends.

  i noticed that the funeral is to be held at the local funeral home and not at the kingdom hall.

  i agree with beryl and the poster who said he likes ambivilence.

  i honestly do not know anymore and i think that belief in christianity is too narrow.

  i do not think christianity is bad or wrong, just that it closes the door to many other possibilites.

  your simple statement clarifying the "generation of 1914" disaster was helpful.

  i had read the scan of the actual explanation per the wbts and i just could not wrap my brain around it.

  the wording was so vague that i just could not figure out what the point was.

  I need some advice

  i am 47 and my parents are 73 and 78. my mom is such a hateful woman, out of 6 kids, i am the only one that even bothers with them, i call every week and have visited them often in arizona (i live in wisconsin) anyway i recently had an argument with my mom.

  she insists on using the "n" word and my step-granddaughter is of mixed race.

  even before that i hated that word.

  brown paper on the mirrors at assembly

  this happened in the mid 80's at a circuit assembly in wisconsin.

  the "brothers" decided they had the solution to the long lines for the ladies room.

  they went in there and covered the mirrors with brown paper.

  two young boys killed themselves

  this happened a few years back in a congregation that i had formerly been associated with.

  i moved before i da'd, anyway.

  it was in north central wisconsin and the story was in the news.
