  in the news, ap is reporting that the mayor of a small town in florida is determined to cleanse tiny inglis, a coastal fishing community, of satanic influence.

  she's issued a proclamation banning satan from her town, and posted warning signs at the outskirts of the city.. .

  the aclu isn't happy, and townfolk are mixed in their opinions about whether this is good or bad for inglis.

  'God Bless You' When You Sneeze?

  we're all familiar with the wt's "history" of the origin of the phrase "god bless you" ("geshundeit" in german) in response to someone's sneezing.

  the wts says it originated with the pagan belief that the soul leaves the body when you sneeze and the "bless you" is part of a superstition to protect you from demon invasion.

  given that background, jw's don't say anything when someone sneezes.

  any discussion of the wts' numbers and the "growth" these numbers suggest has to take into account the inconsistency built in to their counting methods.. .

  counting time in field service is totally arbitrary.

  you won't find a memo anywhere that specificies exactly how such time is to be determined; it's left up to the individual.

  Iceman Mummy Was Meat Eater Pre Flood

  according to wt chronology, the flood of noah happened about 2600 bce, after which man was allowed for the first time to hunt animals for food and eat meat.

  according to the news, the "iceman" mummy discovered frozen, well preserved and the object of much scientific study, is 5,000 years old.

  this dates his existence to about 3000 bce, well before the flood.. below is today's msnbc news report on what they found in his stomach, and it raises an obvious question: did man eat meat prior to the flood?
