Elders stepping down - what got your goat?
by eyeslice inmany here formerly served as elders.
what trivia/humiliation got your goat about how you were treated as an ex-elder?.
the obvious is the cermonial handing in of the elder's book - "you have been stripped of your rank and are no longer worthy of such a fine book".

The rules, the lack of love and more of the same from the old goats of the Bethel CIA (AKA Service Dept) got my goat. Now they can keep it.
Still have my Flock book, but someday I might tell 'em to get the Flock out of here!

Do You Believe Most JWs Follow Their Own Rules About Sex?
by minimus inor do you think they try to follow the rules?

Elsewhere
Perhaps there was a local need to see a prostitute and they were looking for suggestions.
Despite JW rules to the contrary, I have never revealed confidences of patients with respect to sexual matters. So no elder would ever have heard what I have, nor will they. Even when I was an elder I did not allow the "elder in the bedroom mentality" to infect my thinking.
Believe it, dubs are just as horney as everyone else. And they do things just like everyone else. There are some stand in the shower to have sex types, but by and large the sexual habits of dubs run the full gamut.

Most Popular JW Jobs???
by Funchback inwhat are some of the more popular jobs jws seem to flock to in your opinion?
personally, the latest trend in my area is school bus driver as well as school bus monitor.
i can think of six jws who drive school buses and two who are monitors.

Thanks to the former two posters. Jobs / money do not equate with the quality of the person. Some are wealthy, some are poor. Some are gifted mentally, some are mentally challenged. Our family has a long history in the medical field, yet not everyone can be a physician, surgeon, nurse, etc. That is not what tests the quality of the individual. Some of the kindest, wisest dubs I know have little and yes some dubs have fallen victim to the WT?s denigration of education. This is sad.
We?re glad we didn?t listen to that drivel in the past and we raised our family to be educated to the highest degree that they personally chose for themselves. They needed no imprimatur from the Watchtower for the direction they chose. Of course we did our own bit to channel their thinking.
That being said, yes too many dubs have jobs that do not really allow for a modest lifestyle with reasonable plans for retirement. This too is sad.

I now enjoy my role as elder emeritus. Amazing how many in the cong. come for a little TLC, even though we miss many many meetings. Don't really have a clue what the eldubs say about me. Who cares!

by dustyb inlast nite was exiting.

she woke me up and she started crying, told me that she had enough at home and that she threw all her clothes in her car and told her mom that she was moving out.

Hello again dusty
Perhaps they need to be reminded that the use of telephones for harassment is, I believe, a felony. Save the messages for evidence. And perhaps send a copy to the eldumbs in her hall. That will give them something to think about. Perhaps you might indicate that you're planning on suing them for aiding these people in this action. That ought to get their panties in a knot.

A good elder is kind and considerate, caring for the sheep as did Jesus. The book "A Shepherd Looks at the 23rd Psalm" reflects on the care that a literal shepherd shows to his sheep. Can you imagine a shepherd yanking a burr from the fleece of his sheep without a care as to the feelings of the sheep? Why would a figurative shepherd, an elder if you will, be abusive, uncaring and harsh to people who certainly have a much higher value than a beast? Yet today's "appointed????" shepherds show little regard for the well being of the flock who so need care and affection. The feelings and tenor of the 23rd Psalm is not being fulfilled by the elders of today No wonder I remain a Sadelder.
