take note governing body of jehovahs witnesses (tm).
even the pope realizes that it is important to get the secular authorities involved in child molestation cases.
wake up and smell the coffee!!!.
That's called "Shutting the barn door after the horse escapes." The Pope doesn't have much choice, after all the lawsuits and publicity .... let's hope that happens to the WTS SOON.
Yes, Watchtower - your VICTIMS are coming for YOU - Jehovah's Minions! You - abusers of children and champions of pedos - YOU.

we can't explain something - therefore god.
checkmate atheist!.
what if there were no such things as arabic numerals (0123456789)?.
what if you only had your alphabet?.
you could use letters as numerical values.
The self taught man seldom knows anything accurately, and he does not know a tenth as much as he could have known if he had worked under teachers, and besides, he brags, and is the means of fooling other thoughtless people into going and doing as he himself has done.

no not that letter.. so we hobbled along with the family relationship.
my parents (super-devout, highly involved and connected in jw-land,) spoke with me occasionally with that sad mopey voice.
at one point about 6 years ago, my mom quit speaking to me.
I think that is a fair statement. Making that choice, and taking that step, knowing that the consequences may be severe, is what takes it out of the safety realm.

That was a brave and necessary thing to do. I wrote a similar letter almost two years ago. Not a word since, but yeah, the relief is enormous~!
All the best to you, Odrade.

now i know they have always discouraged marrying outside of their so called 'truth' but since when has it been a punishable offense?
my sister recently married and they are discussing wether her being married to an outsider will stumble others and if they need to reprove or disfellowship her for it..
Oh, well, she's still a believer, and they have already let her get away with so much?
I wouldn't be too worried..... she is an experienced double-lifer who knows how to manipulate the system. These folks usually land on their feet.

it seems like every couple of months i notice we've acquired a new religious nut and they have been posting away, annoying everyone and filling the forum with crap.
it's disheartening to see people (even moderators!
) have been having conversations with them and there are pages and pages of insults and crap - we're going to try and avoid this in future.
I find these people a bit 'crazy' or looney tunes, but definitely not 'Asperger-like' (whatever that is supposed to mean). People who deal with Asperger's Syndrome are usually highly intelligent, and often have trouble in social situations. But my friends who have/ deal with AS do not, in any way, remind me of the nutbars Simon is talking about.

besides being overworked and overstressed almost everyday in the past few months,.
i've had to deal with a 'broken heart', insecurities with my physical appearance (gained a lot of weight),.
and being lonely because i started distancing myself from the 'congregation', i just want to cry, sob, and bawl out here in my bedroom.
I didn't cry for a lot of years. Two things I found help. Crying in the shower - it is private, and womb-like. Also, watching a movie that I know 'gets to me', like Ole Yeller.
Sending you much support and love, you will make it!

It depends on a lot of things. If they want to 'get' her, they will.
If your family is 'strong' or prominent JWs, they may make it as tough as they can. The criteria for disfellowshipping is very broad, including intangibles such as "rebelliousness" .... so, anything goes. Just my 2.
