my question stems from a case arising in contra coast county, california.
the state wants to release a sexually violent predator into the community of martinez, under a strict release program, including monitoring and therapy.
cary verse is a jehovah's witness and wants to live in the neighborhood of a kingdom hall.
Wasn't a priest/molester executed last week in Massachusetts?
The inmates had him executed - a convicted murder and lifer did the deed. He also tortured the guy and probably with relish. What can the law do to him since he's never getting out anyway.
Prison Justice. I found this an interesting story.

us anti-abortionist faces execution
the first man to face the death penalty in the united states for killing a doctor who performed abortions is to be executed on wednesday.
paul hill, 49, is due to die by lethal injection in northern florida, following his conviction of the murder of two people outside an abortion clinic in 1994. .
- Like Phil Donahue said when he had the doctor-killer antiabortionist on his show (and I paraphrase)
"Isn't it interesting how the most vociferous antichoice people are almost always male?"
Phil's point was (and he stands by it) that as a man, and therefore incapable of being pregnant, he has no right to tell women what they can do with their bodies.
I am not rigid here. Rape is a consideration for abortion. In fact there are several considerations.
Let me get this right. The foetus that is there because of rape can be aborted. So, therefore, you consider children of rape less valuable than others?
Why is it okay to 'murder' a rape baby by aborting it?
And what other "considerations" would make it okay to perform this 'murder'?
Please clarify. Tks.
... just wonderin'

let me make this very clear from the get go , i am neither for or against the use of marijuana .
but it has just occurred to me that many of my life long friends have either had periods in there life where they have or continue to smoke it .
what if anything has your experience with pot taught you either about yourself or someone you know , was it a positive or negative infuence .
maryjane rocks, should be legal
it's the best thing for nausea, also helps with nerve pain, MS and various other diseases.
It is immoral (imo) that the government made it illegal so hemp would not be available for paper production (thank you WR Hearst). It's all about money.
Everyone I know that has problems with weed (ie. hooked on it) also have other problems with depression and 'issues' that need to be worked out. People who are in emotional trouble turn to weed, just like anything else (food, alcohol, sex, etc.). Then, who gets blamed for their problems? Maryjane, of course.
When young people ask me for my opinion, I encourage them to stay away from ALL chemicals until they are through adolescence. Then as an adult I recommend they avoid most alcohol, coke, acid. If you can't pick it, brew it yourself, or grow it, then stay away from it. If they want to experiment by picking their own mushrooms (safer cause you know what you're getting, it's not cooked up in someone's basement) or smoking weed, I would say go for it.
Just say YES!

it is laid out in five floors with the men increasing in positive attributes as you ascend.
you're only allowed in once.
once you open the door to any floor you must choose a man from that floor.
hahahahahahahahaha
this is too funny, Sally, and sadly too true of many wommyn and men who don't appreciate what they have

My emotional side says they should be shot, but I am ideologically a pacifist so violence doesn't work for me. This is a subject I have given a lot of thought. Here's my solution.
I think they should be put on an island with other same-gender predators (there would be no opportunity for reproduction). The island would be electronically monitored (we have the technology now to do this) and they would not be able to escape. They would have tools to work the land, build shelters, etc. Kinda like "Escape from LA".
Let them set up their own society and prey on each other!

i will go for weeks, months, sometimes a year without sex.
then, if conditions are right and i am particulary attracted to a man, i will bed him.
if the lovin' is good, i might bed him again.
neighbour disturbing sheet-soaking sessions that leave all the posters that were pinned to the wall beside your bed ripped and torn and scars on your back
I need a cigarette!
So many great comments on this thread. My experience has been that there is great sex without love, but it's much better if the two go together.
Love is a choice for me. I only made that choice once, and it was both the best and worst time of my life. The sex was, well, indescribably great from the very first time we did it. We had chemistry from day one, but did not 'do the deed' for several months, and got to know each other first. Love, for moi, is about trust as well as chemistry. I would not want to love someone I don't trust. But trust is a difficult thing for me to attain.
I'll never regret my choice to love, but don't think I want to go there again. So intense, so painful if things go awry ...
As for 'bed buddies', I find that men want more emotional attachment after they have sex with me. Then they get all hurt when I remain the same ole buddy I always was. They just don't seem to understand that I mean it when I say "this won't change our friendship".
I agree that it would be great to have friends available for "tune up" (that's hilarious, btw), but it seems to work better in theory than in actual practice.
Maybe the confusion takes place because most people really want to be in love. They delude themselves into thinking "I love her/him", when they don't even really KNOW the person. I think that most people are lovable, and the more I get to know someone, the more I love them, for their humanity, their foibles. This is true of my friends and was true of my partner of 5 years. Familiarity does NOT, imo, breed contempt.
The truest love I ever had was from my best friend and constant companion for 16 years, Squealer the kitty, who died February (happy birthday to me, she says bitterly). There is no love purer than that of a pet. And yes, I am a bit cynical.

You would be correct!!!
Actually, not a dumb question as the term was only coined a couple of years ago by (I think Lezley Lowe) the "Coast" newspaper, snotty little rag that it is.
Just thought I'd say Hi, I was down yr way last week - escaped the smog for a couple days. I love Halifax but it's turned into such a 'big city' in the last few years. Ick. Oh well.

I think they believe it is good to 'baffle them with bull****'. You know, if you don't have facts, just make something up that's close enough to the truth so that people won't question it too much.
When my aunt and family lost their house and all possessions to fire (no insurance) they received little help from their 'brothers & sisters', but I guess that wouldn't get lots of publicity. 9/11, OTOH, is a big deal so they want to horn in on the heroic side of it.

what ever happens, please remember that you are fighting for your freedom and are ABSOLUTELY doing the right thing. I can't advise you about procedures nowadays. I walked away 25 yrs ago, and I don't know much about it now except that I am df'd and shunned by all JWs in the province except one elder who still speaks to me like a normal person.
As your family is heavily entrenched, it seems to me that they may come down hard on you. I truly hope I am wrong about this.
