  Hi HappyMan...

  I have a question about this, because it is such an in-depth look at the question "What is an Apostate?"....

  Over the last few days and weeks as I have taken a "hands on" approach to finding some real answers about the organization that has my family so wrapped up... I have met so many people who put their lives into this thing. Good People. People who would never purposely cause harm to anyone. People who dont go "looking for trouble" ever! BUT they have in fact uncovered many un-truths and inconsistencies in this organization. For instance the whole money i$$ue, the blood issues, the child abuse issues. The list goes on.

  My question to you is this: ARE THESE PEOPLE APOSTATES OR NOT?

  If you dont mind skipping all the intellectual jargon for the benefit of those of us who cannot keep up with it... I would ask that you answer simply "yes" or "no". I mean, I ask my father something like this, and I get a whole lot words, but they dont say anything.. dont answer the question. (actually the question is for anyone)

  anyone else here care to admit they would rather let others do the difficult research for them?

  once in the psycho hospital, we played a "game".

  (keep in mind that games in such settings were either only a means to keep us from killing ourselves or the other inmates between smoke breaks, or to assist us in gaining insight into our natures (this was never the case except in the following instance.).

  Your post has a familliar ring to it with myself. I think this goes back to the spiritual division... on one hand the masculine spirituality (one of thought, and reasoning) on the other, a feminine spirituality (one of feeling, and emotion). It does not of course matter which gender you are...

  I am a male, but usually my emotions, rather than intellect; play a large role in what actions I take.

  AlanF's approach and way of reasoning often amaze me too. And as far as letting someone else do the "research", I as well have a difficult time trying to focus on any one thing long enough to research it.

  I would pay to have the seeming wit that Alan and some of the others have, Because I was born a dummy, I grew up a dummy, and I will probably die as a BIG Dummy

  their thinking is that some of them are not upbuilding, crude, pornographic, filthy etc.

  the implication is of course that since some of it is "bad", stay away from all of it.

  I have been properly thrashed for mistating something on this thread. I suppose I don't open the car door for my wife because I "love" her... I do it because I RESPECT her. I show her LOVE by how I interact with her... and I show her RESPECT by doing simple things for her that may make her day a little easier.

  However, we remain equals in our relationship... still not the same... but equal.

  Thank you BT for getting on me about that.

  an observation...... recently someone asked "are we the most prolific exjw site on the net?

  " from looking about and trawling around, i don't dispute that this site is the biggest, if not the most prolific.

  (type in jw on a search and this site will appear) from an inactive point of view, i reckon despite the fact that there are some genuine people "hurting" here from past experiences, the majority of posts seem like some crusade against the wt and jws at whatever expense.

  Hi Scoob... I don't think I have ever addressed you personally (it's the dog thing I think) But you caught my attention with that one...

  and this is of course just my dumb old opinion... as far as the "validity" thing goes, I would have to say that it is the organization that has undermined it's own validity by it's actions.

  And for "exploiting pain" ??? I used to post here under another name... I posted my story along side the others. I would have to say that it was for me, the best therapy. In some way, we all know the board is monitored, by them. Some realize when they are putting all that hurt up there in black and white, that somebody is going to see it. A way of saying "YOU hurt me". And some, truly just dont know what to do. BUT I think either way you look at it, there IS valid pain. Whether someone is being shunned by their family, or just at a loss of understanding.

  Yes there are those looking to start something, always will be on the net. But I have found that MOST of the people here genuinely care. and as for slander... all these stories just can't be fabrication.

  DO YOU KNOW THAT I GOT A PERSONAL PHONE CALL TODAY, JUST OUT OF CONCERN FROM SOMEONE ON THIS BOARD?? Genuine caring 100% we-all-got-hurt-by-this-thing-companionship.

  famous jehovahs witnesses

  this is my first post.. when i was still a witness myself, there were some perennial stories regarding 'famous' jehovahs witnesses or ex's.

  does anyone know any truth or have any proof about the following: hank marvin, cliff richard and more importantly, the man who hit the gong in the 'rank' movies?.

  if you have anyone of note you want to tell me about, i'd most appreciate it too.. cheers, rush.

  I will never forget it.... When I was a very young boy I attended the Chapel Hill, NC congregation. I sat right next to Micheal Jordan's Grand-mother, and He attended the meetings more than one time.... I will never forget that he had to "duck his head" a little to walk in the door. He only attended two or three times that I can think of..... but needless to say, I can also remember that there was quite a stir about asking for autographs.... It caused quite an upset and a few of the teen "sisters" were counciled about "Idolizing" him. He was a Tar-heel then. College boy ... He drove a blue Honda-Accord with a UNC sticker in the back window.

  I am getting some e-mails from all over the world... Thank you all, and please don't worry. I don't have time for death right now... schedule to keep.... things to do. It will just have to wait.

  It is amazing to me that you tell your doctor that you've lost 25 pounds in two weeks, and his answer to that is to spend an entire day taking blood from you every thirty minutes.... ???? BUT I am just a dummy and he is a doctor right? what do I know? Lab rats... we are all just lab rats... He says to me "Let's try this" or "Let's try that".... Uh uh. NO WAY... I don't want to be a guinea pig. You go collect data from somewhere else.

  YOU ALL are the greatest. I am just fine, and don't worry. Besides, I get to re-live my teen years... I have a buzzzz that just will not go away. I just keep giggling. I am gonna have to go dig out some old Ozzy albums and pretend I am 16 again. I will be around this evening on the board. A chance my doctor will know more, but for now it's "we will know more monday".

  Y'all just stick together. You have a lot of good people here. Genuine folks. The newer ones will learn that too. As this thing with JW's progresses, you will have even more people joining the board, in search of the truth. Show them what you have shown me.

  I just found this thread yall made me blush now. Please don't get all worked up... just a little set-back in the health department. Had to spend a little time with the guys in white coats... and BIG needles. Vampires... all of them... suck blood out of one side and money out of the other. It is a myth that garlic and holy-water kills them though... I tried. Doctors... ugh.

  Just look over some of the things I may say here and there... little dizzy, and talking funny. I may make a few posts now and then that make you go "huh?"

  Thanks to everybody...Cass, you are a lovely person. If I didn't have this board, I don't know If I would have lived through the last few weeks.

  BUT no matter what may happens would yall just please know that this cult thing has brought you together for a reason. I have found nothing here, but love and friendship, and kind thoughts. Whatever comes your way, you can all handle it ... together. I wish I had the chance to know each of you personally.
