JW funeral! Help!

i love her very much and miss her terribly.
she joined the jw's late in life after years of my mom coaxing her to join.

Smurfette, I am sorry for your loss. Grandmothers are special.
What was said to you at your grandfather's service caught my attention. "my mother asked me to leave the wake so I wouldn't make the brothers and sisters feel uncomfortable".... I am sorry, but this is horrible. You go there and hold your head up girl. Their comfort is irrelevant right now. Any mention of your faith or your religious choices, is out of place.. and these people should know that. I hope you don't stand there and let them talk down to you, or use this as an excuse to preach at you. That is the most cold-hearted and un-loving thing I can think of to do to someone. It is selfish of anyone to use someone's loss in this way.
While I think it would be an inappropriate time and place to do battle with the "brothers and sisters".... don't let them bully you. This service is for YOU not them. If you can, bring a close friend, so that you don't find yourself standing alone in a corner, feeling even more vulnerable.
My family, will think of you this weekend, and wish you comfort, and strength.

the biblical on bad associations spoil useful habits and another on just because everyone else does it doesnt mean you have to do it to, would you jump off a cliff just because other people do what were the sayings that bugged you?

Armageddon dream
by tinkerbell82 ini used to have horrible nightmares from the time i was maybe five until i was maybe thirteen that armageddon has come and i'm on jehovah's bad list.
i had them at least three times a week initially, but gradually as i grew older they were less frequent and then they finally stopped altogether...or so i thought.
last night i had one for the first time in at least seven or eight years and it was just as terrifying as it was when i was five.

Tink... If it weren't for the fear thingy, they couldn't keep attendance rates up. The friend who sent me that link, has sent me about a hundred similliar links... I would be afraid to post them here, because she has put alot of hard work into finding the information, and she deserves the credit... not I.
But if you pm me, I will give you my e-mail address and send you some of the better ones. I think it would ease your mind alot. ... well... it might just make you even more angry. But maybe it will kill some of those night-time demons you are battling. The deeper we dig into this thing, the more we are able to provide proof that the JW's took advantage of people's phsycological weaknesses, in order to turn a buck.
The dreams may never go away... sad enough... but you have to start somewhere.

i told the woman right off i was 'apostate' and had no intention of changing it.
she kept asking me personal questions which i told her were none of her business and she said she would have the elders come by and i told her that if they came by the better be wearing bullet proof vests!

Aww Rayvn... Hate that you were so upset... seems like you have calmed a bit. But you are right about Va. ... Post the property and come out shooting. Just pull a "Granny Clampitt" on the bitch and load a shot-gun with rock-salt. If you get arrested, you can just say "I heard voices... and they said she was coming for me"
If that doesn't work... next time she comes to the door, just start chanting. Dance a little circle around her and throw some chicken guts on her, and then tell her she is doomed, and if she knocks on another door "they" will come for her. (you know how they are scared of all the hee-bee jee-bee stuff)

Hope you feel better, and dont get yourself in any trouble (seriously) the orange jumpsuit wont look good in a 38-D, and you won't do anyone any good if you are locked up. Besides you might end up sharing a cell with some big ol broad named Helga, who might decide you are kinda cute.

How many of you went to the elders when you / someone did something wrong ?
by run dont walk ini've read a lot of threads of late, where people stated when they did something wrong they would go the elders the next day and confess.. i find this truly bizzare !!!.
okay, maybe i didn't have a conscience as a jw, i did alot of things wrong, but, that would be the f--kin' day i would go to the elders and confess anything.
i would never tell those old goots anything, because then they would have something to hang over you for a long time.

My birth mother was disfellowshipped when I was two. Didnt meet her again for about 13 years...(blah blah blah)
WHY you ask..
Three years after my birth parents were married, my father (now an elder) went to the elders of the time and confessed that they had "relations" before they were married. The birth-mother wouldn't fess up and was put on public reproach. She apparently (by both their stories) stood up in the middle of the KH and reemed my dad and the announcing elder.
She's dead now. But there is some sort of twisted irony to the whole thing. At least she died free. I didnt really know her that well, but I commend her.

NEW: The satan image is a false representation, anything "pagan" became a symbol of "anti-christian", but it was the christians who seemed to get off on torture and perverted symbolisms of the "anti god". If you are looking for twisted perverse pleasure.... stick with Christianity.... The cloven-hooved, horned god, has little to do with any of that stuff. pm either of us, and I am sure we can send you some good links. You may be a little dissappointed, there are no sacrificing virgins and you dont get to kill anything, and this path is not without taking responsibility for your actions. It DOES include a concience, and respect for other living things.

I went to work today
by larrynbabies init will be 5 months (tomorrow 24th) since megan has died.
i went to work today for the first time since that day.
i was leaving the house this morning and while pulling out of the driveway i looked at my home and remembered the last time i had done this 5 months earlier.
