now i had the opportunity to speak with these people, both inside and outside of his group, as well as to attend one of their public meetings.
the women were dressed most severely with long hair in a bun, and the meeting was the most joyless i can remember.

An Old-Fashioned 4th of July
by cruzanheart inthe city of murphy dedicated their newest park, which is about two blocks from our house right behind the elementary school, this past saturday.
they had a dedication ceremony and party afterward, called it an early 4th of july celebration, and it was wonderful!
there's an old-fashioned bandstand in the middle of the park, and the city council did a presentation, then the local boy scout troop had a flag ceremony, complete with "taps" for fallen veterans.

yeah we always had the district convention during that weekend and i would get introuble from looking out the hotel windows and watching the displays lol. last forth i was at a bookstudy i belive or maybe it was sept 11 festival they had, my memory sucks lol. but it started just as the bookstudy did and i sooooooo wanted to go out casue the hall was shakin. finally it was over and i had to pretend not to be in a hurry to leave lol went out behind the hall and sat in my car and watched it....................... i love them dang things lol there cool as heck. now if i only had a beer or three lol. unfortunately in half an hour it was all over but theres always this year :D

..........after reading so many "bad elder" stories, i can understand why some might feel that they were just one of the rank-and-file and were treated poorly vs. someone like an elder that could have authority and try to intimidate those that they felt they could push around.

I was an MS. Appointed at an early age. Earlier than anyone else in my peer group. I didn't get big-headed about it(as best as I can remember). I always felt undeserving actually. But all my buddies(so called) started to not include me in weekend activities anymore. Can't have the MS along. He might counsel us or tell on us. After they were appointed later, it kinda went back to normal but I remember that not being "one of the boys" was not fun and I felt left out somewhat.
amen to that been there done that, and being the po's son i caught crap for every little thing that went wrong and i was supposed to KNOW better. and i never deserved crap tho i did pretty much act right most of the time but poof ms poor regular pioneer...... and all the while told by an elder................. well the highest position we can own to is being a publisher in jahs orginazation........................ YEAH WHATEVER wheres my boots it sure got thick in there

Disctrict conventions and hot days
by JH inas far as i can remember, the district convention was always the last week of june or first week of july in my region.
in either case it was always very hot out, and where we gathered for the convention it was always very hot there also.
this year would have been no exception since it was in the upper 80's and lower 90's since a few days here.. i can remember a couple of times when the temperature inside the olympic stadium in montreal was about 90f.

i guess i had it easy because mine never were to bad. all of them were indoors. been to midwest in memphis tn. and the one in littlerock........ some how that seems to have been mid south. and mostly myriad gardens in oklahoma city and now in tulsa. all of them were indoors and one time they had construction going on in okc and so the air could escape and thus it got real warm but still not over 80 so aint no way imma gonna cry. even went to shreveport la once or was that monroe.......... i forget i was like 10 at the time. mostly the sisters complain about it being to cold and when i was an attendant they gave us the standard answer......... and we were either to just say something non commital or say that the thermostat is set to 75 which was the societys standard and they dont budge for anyone lol do they

gotta be the school brocure .............. young............ takeing it to my teachers trying to be the good proud witness youth........... got slammed and made fun of for months because of that. it was assumed from that day forth by one particulare teacher that i was an idiot................. unfortunately as things turned out he wasnt without merit lol. can i get an amen lol. he was the science teacher and when something stupid would come up like evolution he would come up and say........... well im sure mr jones here belives he came from monkeys............... and the dumb bastards namewas............... mr jones lol so at least that time i got his ass without tryin. tho when they would have a tms meeting and find the absolute worst driest speaking old guy and give him the MASTERBATION talk lol. i would always try to keep from laughing and was thinkjing WTF who is gonna take this idiot seriously. i kept thinking of him as herber the pervert for even associateing himself with sex lol. just say NO or at least EWWWWWWWWWWWW. ok to describe him........... 5 6 maybe 100 lbs........... pants up around his chest and suspenders wearing one of two things.......... polyester or polyester i could go on but im grossing myself out lol
