Holiday Help
by RollerDave ini am trying to prepare a position paper regarding the history of watchtower bans on holidays and could really use assistance.. i am trying to nail down the earliest instance of each of the following holidays being 'discouraged' (aka verboten) by the wts through any channel at its disposal.. here's what i have thus far.

Boldly Going (Everyone's advice needed)...
by Tuesday inhey guys, long time from me and no topics (yup moving is a pain).
i'm sure no one really remembers but at my last postings i was mentioning that my wife was pregnant.
well now i'm the proud poppa of a beautiful 2 week old baby girl.. this of course brings complications, my mother is still an active jw and surely chomping at the bit to bring my daughter (did i mention she's beautiful) to show off to all her meeting friends.. of course i don't want my daughter exposed to this, so i came up with a tactic i would like everyone's opinion on.

ok my son will NEVER EVER EVER go to a kingdom hall. my body will be in a cold grave and ill still rise to prevent it.
there is nothing good there and i shall raise him to know what i had to put up with and what others who have suffered much more than i did were subjected to there.
i have good parents and in laws............. but they are JWs so my child will NEVER even be alone with them. at least not untill they leave that horrible cult.
dont let your precious daughter out of YOUR sight. your mom can show pictures and thats IT good enough.
ask yourself.......... if you could prevent yourself from ever setting foot inside a hall............. would you?
and when you answer YES then do the same for your daughter now.

i have an example of their love................. conditional love i should clarify.
i know someone who did it all, reg pio, worked, and went to school, WHILE makeing all the meetings and prepareing for them...... i dont know how she did it. her aunt and uncle had no children so they councilled her on every little thing and claimed that she was the daughter they never had.
she recently lost her house to foreclosure, she had been faceing serious health issues after having her last child and had not worked full time since the end of october last year. her returning to work has been difficult because she is dealing with post partum panic disorder.......... meaning she has panic attacks when leaving her child....... crazy things she imagines and it turns her into a serious wreck. fortunately now she has a diagnosis so she knows what the problem is and that makes her able to deal with it.
the rest of her family either has their own problems finacially or are the kind you dont ask for help cause they would make you pay back with interest. so her mother finds out the house is in danger of being foreclosed upon......... isnt in a situation to help because her house is close to the same situation...... she tells said aunt and she tries to jump in the middle of everything.
now the girl has made plans and moved out to drop her mortgage basicly in half....... wise decision considering. so the aunt wants to eat with this young lady.......... who is no longer a jw but hasnt da or dfed........... and both her aunt and her mother give her both barrels talking stupidness.
the house was beautiful......... it truely was but the fact they wanted $2200 a month up from $1400 that the mortgage was originally.... just makes it impractical........ especially considering she isnt back to 100% yet health wise to allow her normal work. so she took the losss and has been beating herself up about it.
so they accuse her of foolish pride, not letting them help her. why cant she ask the family to help. bullcrap bull crap bullcrap. she says.............. no one is in a position to help so the house is sold............ case closed.
do they let her get away with that........ nooooooooooooooooooooo so finally she got up and left.
her aunt wants the loan information and account number............... which is stupid cause the house sold already so its a moot point.................. how can she help now?
SHE DOSENT WANT TO HELP............ SHE WANTS TO BUY THE DAMN HOUSE FOR HERSELF......... VACATION HOUSE TO GO ALONG WITH HER1.2 million dollar house in florida
yeah............. jws pretend to love you....... untill you dont stomach their bull crap anymore then they roll over you.

yo............... get this......... i was the chaperone for........... my GRANDMA.
if that wasnt jacked up ................ she was in her damn 70s but heaven forbid that she be out alone with the 75 yr old brother who wanted to buy her a chicken fried steak................. i mean seriously WTF.
i managed to get a free meal and i made myself as scarce as i could..... fortunately grandma is smarter than that old fool and didnt marry him. ............... if he woulda been 50 nah.........40 he MIGHT have been able to keep up with her.

Gifts that scream cheap or are just plain irritating!!!
by free2beme inas the holiday season approaches, we often hear the term "bad gifts" or "useless gifts" being thrown around in stories of christmas past.
i was sitting and thinking of different gift ideas and stories i heard in my life, that truly stink or are just plain irritating.
if the thought counted, then these gifts are thoughtless.

yo Snoozy i woulda regifted it to her the next year.... cept i would either wash it and put it back in the same box......... or leave it in the same box so she knows its EXACTLY as she gave it to ya.......... then let her have egg on her face the next year.
she will either realise what an idiot she was OR it will turn into one of the funniest gag gifts ever to be used EVERY YEAR.
my mom and dad got an anniversary card one year that extolled their virtues and how wonderfull they were and said that its the hardest thing to find another couple as awesome as them........ but not to worry........ they could send the card to them next year............ so thats what they did untill there was no more space for the "happy anniversary....... signed dick and jane"
PS have you ever gotten .............. lottery tickets................ i mean wtf they cost a damn dollar and 99.9% are worthless....................... but theres that chance................... yeah right.

Somebody hurt my baby! :S
by Elsewhere inonce again someone hurt nancy, my little mini cooper.
this time they popped the front driver side window, broke it all out, stole my tomtom gps, ripped apart the center console and tore up the 12 volt plug while ripping the gps power cable out.
the police came out and did the whole fingerprint thing and got a few bits and pieces of some prints, but we won't know if anything will come of it.

get some oversized seat covers and have someone airbrush gross stuff on them........ like a bottle of ketchup spilling all over the seat...... grease stains..... old french fries......... nasty stuff.
then get some cardboard and fold it in three so it will fill your floor boards and start glueing clean fast food bags onto it........... crumple up a mcdonalds bag that never had food in it and glue it to the card board and make it so when you unfold the card board and put it in the floor your car looks trashed.................
do the same with the back floor board........ then when you get ready to drive off........... pull the seat covers off and fold up the card board and put it in your trunk.................
if the car looks nasty................. they wont think you will have good stuff in it........
PAINT THE CAR.............. a RED car........... seriously................ dude
the bean bag base is spot on as well.

bro....... depends on what they look like........... or you want them to look like.
if your a colin farell who just dosent give a *&^% how your boots look as long as they are comfortable........... go find a good mud puddle and wade around in it all day. the water will get the leather wet and supple and then as you walk it will stretch where your feet move against it.....upside is the boot will be comfortable but ive had them fit one of my feet diferently and had a wierd shape..... comfortable but a little weird looking. another good thing is the boot will dry and still have the shape and it will happen QUICKLY
if you want to guarantee that the boots still look as good as new............... or if they are high dollar or skin ect........... put talcum powder inside to help keep you from getting blisters and go to a shoe store........ a real one not foot locker and look for leather creams cause as was mentioned they do sell them to help loosen the leather.
