ok so this will be the first xmas i have ever celbrated, i have no idea what to do, my man and his family are really into it and have traditions they have always kept to, and i love my new family and being involved in it all, but i havent a clue where to start!
who to buy what for, how much do i spend?
what cards do i buy?
if you know someone is into music........ get them a gift card for a cd or something, that way they know you were actually thinking of them not just throwing 20 bucks their way.
as for what to bring to the dinner........ your lucky that your mother in law gonna cook........ so fix a bad a$$ desert.... one of those you should only eat half a piece but instead you eat two
we have such an interesting group of people from around the world on this board.
it might be interesting to have a thread where you discuss a hobby, something interesting that happened in the past, somewhere you've been, etc.. not deep, dark confessions - just interesting stuff.. .
* i have travelled into all 48 american states that are not named alaska or hawaii.. * for the past few years, i have had a slight walking impairment due to a form of arthritis known as ankylosing spondylitis.

i used to buy at least 2-4 guns a year, but since ive gotten married i havent bought a gun in 4 years........... and only been shooting ONE FREAKING TIME........ that sooooooooo has to change
this is just something that really peed me off regarding the elders, is how low they are sinking to get gossip and stuff now, i was in contact with a well trusted friend of mine who used to attend meetings up until 2 years ago, his wife is still in the jw org, he was having a joke around on some text messages with me regarding my man saying "try before you buy" and so on, which i found amusing....lets just say his wife didnt...she snooped on his phone, wrote out the texts he had sent me and gave the transcript to the elders, and now he has to go before a judicial commitee.
how wrong is that, for a start its an invasion of privacy!
i was fuming yesterday when i found out.
well in my time i have served in 6 different congregations in 4 different states. in every single one of those congregations ive seen blatant examples of elders either directly or by proxy spying on those they deem "troublesome". ive even been asked to do some of the spying, tho i did not directly do so........ i did tell them if i saw something i would tell them. at the time i was completely brainwashed so i actually WOULD have. ive seen elders target people and go out of their way to entrap them, and ive seen these same elders ignore issues that should have been run into the ground, just for the sake of this particular congregations REPUTATION.
in the elders book of instructions (flock book) they only put general rules......... yet give the elders other information at the yearly elders meetings to WRITE IN THE BOOK, simply for the ability to deny anything and everything. its a sign of what is going on......... instead of being like jesus and ACTULLY TRYING TO HELP they just dont want to be sued. if they are gonna be sneaky and lie about one thing then EVERY other thing they do is equally likely to be false or underhanded.
the particular sister who they put to look out for me........... had health problems,,,,,,,,,, extreme ones. i didnt know she lived in the building that i did because she never left her apartment. i found out after living there for six months that she lived about 100 feet from my door. i only knew her by sight and reputation, so when i found out she lived there i NOTICED her. for the next three months or so as i was fadeing i never saw her, then when the elders started their crap with me.... just looking to point a finger.... i saw her damn near every time i came home or left.... im gonna say 80-90% of the time..... same sick woman who sat in her humidified apartment 24/7 now manages to step outside and see me most of the time. she knew when i went to work and when i came home becasue that was pretty regulated. the elders who would be missing me on saturday or on meeting nights started showing up within a 15 minute time frame of me getting off work and reaching home. there is no way they coulda known my schedule because i didnt tell my dub family it........ you would have had to have someone looking at me.
funny thing is......... i wasnt doing anything wrong except not going to their meetings. go figure
another funny thing is the number of times ive gotten ratted out by elders wives who claimed i was doing something......... and it wasnt true
got called into the back room and chewed out and read the riot act to.......... because i was accused of going in service with a young blonde sister........... by ourselves......... hint hint wink wink.
they just wanted jucie details of something that didnt happen...... told them um your mistaken............. of course i was lieing............ untill i could produce the other sister who was sitting in the back seat of the heavily tinted SUV...... who happened to be dark skinned black and to be wearing black.................... then they changed their tune....... still didnt appologise.
you get ratted out the first time........... could be a chance thing............ after the 17th time...... i woulda thought that the elders would have told her to piss off knowing that i wasnt doing what she was accuseing. lol especially since they were useing me as a MS and trying to make me start giving hour talks. i would hope that if those accusations which i generally was able to show to be trumped up or out right ficticuous would have gotten those PRIVLEDGES removed from me if they had any reason to truely suspect me.

i have read that docs usually don't treat it unless it's secondary to hypertension.
my bp is very normal i am am not taking any anticoagulants.

when you see someone needing help in a public place?
i usually avoid eye contact, but then feel guilty all day.
for instance when you pull up to a light and people are standing there with a sign or actually walk up to your window...i won't ever roll down a window.. today i pulled into the local grocery store parking lot, and there standing with a walker, was a middle aged latino man with his lower legs in some sort of braces.
got approached outside of a grocery store........... tried to ignore the person...... but the wife dosent catch on fast enough....... he was broke in a bad way and needed to feed his children. we had 8 dollars to our name that day........ she made him swear he would buy some chicken right then. woulda been smarter for us to buy it and give it to him but we had to be somewhere.
people with the signs...... i never give to them. a friend of mine saw a family in an old station wagon and they had those signs.... will work for food. so he being the person he was went to go talk to them. guy put on the hard times act and wanted to work but couldnt hold down a job due to some sickness. my friend said he would buy them some food and then they could come out to his house and he would put them to work for some spending money............... they took the food and went to his house..............
he was gonna get them to mow the lawn and clean up around his place........ the guy had a couple of his boys make a couple passes with the lawn mower then they left.
my friend had 200 dollars waiting for them, and when he realized they left early he even gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe dad got sick......... saw them at the same walmart the next day......... told them they could come to his house and finish up and he would give them some money for it............ they passed, he kept his money.
now myself i try and give to the lions or to school sports things but i gotta belive someone before ill give them any of my hard earned money.

Years ago I was a design assistant for a small swimwear company called Ujeana and I was back stage at their annual swimwear competition once. I'm a girl but I never had realized the breast comes in so many different shapes and sizes.
