i can go anywhere in this world (even cuba!
) and people love me just for the country that i come from.
(its true!
One American standing up to say that she loves Canadians! Canada is a wonderful country. I hope one day to immigrate to Canada.- I can go anywhere in this world (even Cuba!) and people love me just for the country that I come from. (It’s true! People, (at least everyone except maybe Americans), love Canadians....and really, why wouldn’t they?)
i just got off the phone with my mom; i love her now more than i did as a kid.
i have over the years briefly brought up my "doubts" about the teaching and she quickly dismissed what i was saying and said it was not for her to hear and that she believed in jehovah to set all things right.
so since i have made a point to "pacify" her talks when it came to the jws, recently as some of you know i found this site and in addition to what i learned my understanding of the jws and their secrets are even better known.
(((((kproscets))))) You are not alone.

what, in your opinion, is the worst thing that the society has released?
(book / tract / video / audio cassette)
Your Youth - Getting the Best Out of It. I hated that book, my mom thought it was the greatest thing. And My Book of Bible Stories, some of the stories in that book are not appropriate for children.

there are a couple of ideas on this.
one is that satan is a corruption of the egyptian god set who murdered the god osiris and was avenged by horus.. the second is found in the religion of the persian zoroaster, who professed the good god ahura mazda who was at war with the evil god angra mainyu, later known as arhiman.
the zoroastrian concept of hell is almost a mirror image of the jewish hell, and zoroaster's religion even had the concept of a purgatory, as well as a last judgement.
Interesting thoughts Dansk. Thanks. I will have to ponder on this subject for awhile.

i wonder; if the typical jw was given a choice between living 100 years in paradise or living forever in a society such as we have today, what would they choose?
what is the real draw, immortality or perfection?.

I ask because I have this discussion with my JW mother whenever we talk about death. I tell her that I don't want to live forever in a paradise or any other way. She replies that Jehovah made us to live forever and be perfect and that my assertion that 'I don't want to' is unacceptable and a sin against God. I say that a loving God would not make me live forever if I would prefer not to and that I don't care what happens after I die. She get's mad.
I don't get it.

as most are aware, vicki boer has been long awaiting a decision to be handed down in a case she started against the society in canada.. the decision was handed down today.
as with any 55 page decision, it will take some time for the legal experts to hash it over and decipher what was said.
but, in a nutshell..... vicki won.
Congratulations Vicki!

by title of this forum: jehovahs-witness.com, and the open registration: ...everyone welcome!
do we suck in jehovah's witnesses unawares?
by its ip address alone, are we being deceptive?.
I think that 'Everyone Welcome' is an open invitation. I have noticed posts from active JW's, former JW's and never JW's. This site seems (IMHO) to live up to it's invitation.
Thank You Simon for providing a place to openly discuss issues surrounding the Watchtower Corporation.
