Merger aftermath

a couple of months ago, i reported on my congregation being disolved and merged with another.. on sept 1, cong b merged with cong a using the same hall, thereafter using cong a's meeting times.

also nearby cong c moved into the hall using cong b's meeting times and cong c's kh is being put up for sale.. i've since been to both sunday meetings and both midweek meetings.

at all, the parking lot is totally full, cars have to park around the corner and on the street.

Sound like good news (the only thing I wonder is how could anyone even suggest that the Borg's doing these merges has anything to do with care for the r&f sheep).

@Vidiot - I won't play "a devil's advocate", and won't say the Borg is all fine and doesn't have serious problems (like CSA, shunning, blood, etc.). But it doesn't make Jdubs persecution and fake 'justice' in Russia look any better.

@peacefulpete - You say you understand the Russian position, but as far as I can see it from your following explanation - it's definitely not the case, unfortunately.

The reality is that the current Russian gov't doesn't give a damn about the things mentioned as a reason behind the ban on Jdubs. Even more, those things are exactly what the gov't itself does on a regular basis: 'propaganda of exclusivity, superiority', (and similar stuff like terrorism/extremism, hate speech, war propaganda, nationalism. etc).

One could argue about the actual reasons Russians love to ban Jdubs, but it's 100% not because of their care about welfare of the citizens, or 'fighting extremism' (this very last thing just sounds ridiculous in the mouth of KGB fellows).

”well i was away and i was going to attend in that city”.

i did everything right, i told my bible study conductors in advance and genuinely i wanted to see another hall.

Advice on Disassociating

hello my exjw/pimo/pomo friends,.

i am working on penning my da letter and wondered if i should use it as a tool to maybe wake up individuals as the boe will have to read it.. anyone have any advice on what i should say versus what i should leave out?

i am not going to fade as my family can either be loyal to blood or loyal to a man made religion.

I'm a still a PIMO. Working on waking up my family - as they're dear to me.

Had I not have the family trapped in - I'd quit the same day I learned the 'Truth' is BS.

From my experience - it's super hard to change another person's point of view even on a minor issue. We, humans, tend to be stubborn, you know.

If you don't care much about getting your family out - go ahead with your plan.

I guess, social media could have even more impact than the paper letters. But in any case, the elders should be the last people on Earth to learn about your decision (they'll still learn it super quick, anyway).

Using a platform to voice your concerns and reasons to leave is also an option (but here, you'll have just few seconds before they turn off the mikes).

I'd vote for making some video with your explanations - and posting it on Youtube/Facebook, etc.. From my experience, even the hardcore Jdubs could watch it (they do it just to reinforce their belief they're better than you - but who knows...).
