"body you" is very smart about a few, simple things.
this is how you want it because "body you" is kind of a moron.. fact 2: all living things have two primary desires: to stay alive, and to have offspring.. this is a basic, defining biological fact.
of course "brain you" doesnt think, "i want to talk to that cute boy because i want to procreate", but "body you" is!
(the better you treat 'em the worse they treat you)
sorry you have known women like this, too bad. I know it does happen, but, I really dont think this is the rule though. I hope it is the exception. But I really am no expert. I can only speak about the one serious relationship I have had in my life, my husband. The better he treats me, the better I treat him. The better I treat him, the better he treats me. Cool hu?

this past sunday the husband and i went to the car races at near by speed way to watch the races and the fireworks that is put on there everyyear on the 4th of july ,usually he heads to the bathroom is his excuse not to stand for the athem but this time when it was announced for all to stand he looked at me as i was rising and said to me " do you want me to stand ,and i said yes ,you are only standing so what is the big deal".
i was so happy just for the fact that he stood there against the laws of the wt and folks,he wasn't struck down dead and no demons took over he body as of yet.. i really don't care if he believes in his country or not but i want him to feel it for his own reasons and not because the wt told him that it is naughty and against their laws, so for me i hope this is some kind of break through..
I remember the stress I went through, the first time I stood, or sang the national anthem. But now, not only does it come naturally, I really feel good doing it. Was awesome singing God Bless the USA, with 10,500 people at the ballpark fireworks display on Sunday, I got chills, and tears.
I remember plenty of times, dubs, my family included, would find a stupid tricky way to already be standing, when the national anthem came on.
So glad I dont have to worry about this anymore. And great to know my son will never have to go through that. It was great watching him stand, and put his hand on his heart, without a second thought.

were you "encouraged" not to devote time to personal exercise, gym or sport in general?
i remember this one time co gave a talk how "we do not need sport" then he proceeded to explain how walking up the stairs in field service was exercise enough for our legs, then how we didn't need any stretching exercise as making gestures while explaining the bible verses would do the job, and so on.
Anything extracurricular was highly discouraged. That gestures = stretchiing excercises is just plain weird. The things they will say to the rank and file, who duh, sit there like zombies and buy it all.
as a jw, i always wondered why someone would leave 'the truth'.
obviously though as they were df'd or had da'd themselves you couldn't just go up to them and ask what the deal was.
yesterday we got an email from a friend of mrs. kwin who moved 3 hours away last fall, basically saying "i missed not seeing you at the assembly.
I wouldn't call it a cry for help. Unfortunately, she thinks she is helping you. I remember calling someone who had left the truth, thinking I would be the one to help them and bring them back, after so many others had failed.
We are going to compose a response to explain why we made the choice that we did. It will be short but to the point, leaving it up to her to search for answers herself, but showing her where to look and what to look for.

here's a nice little side benefit of being raised a jw then leaving; having to search the obituaries of the local paper once a month hoping that your dad's name does not turn up.
it's doubtful that any of my "family" would even let me know, so, i know it's morbid, but i look in the local paper each month and hope that i don't see his name.... j

Sorry (((Colorado))), I know this hurts you. I got the same funny story from my jw family about my df'd sis. They could come to my house for a family dinner, but couldn't meet in public, because what it boiled down to is, someone may see them. They hypocrisy of it all just pisses me off.
I was devestated for years that my father refused to walk me down the aisle when I got married, since I married an unbeliever. I know your pain, I really feel this with you, hang in there.

i find if upsetting that you feel its appropriate to invite my husband into your home and demean the religion he was brought up in, not only have you done that in your home but youve also done it in his home.

the gb of the wts has to clarify the issue of the wts ownership by choosing one of the two points below as the valid one but not both.
1. the wts is an organisation belonging to humans, a business that just like any other human business has its owners that demand to have the right to exert total control over its affairs and to exclude from it all outsiders.
these owners are the shareholders, unknown in this case.

some of you may know, but i have been on a serious journey through watchtower "theology", and by association, have gone back all through the history of christianity.

i have checked out probably 100 archeological, religious, and history books from the library.
Yup, me too. It's not about any doctrine,false prophecies, stuff like that for me. My problem is plain and simple, lives have been ruined. That's what did it for me.
