Woo hoo! Lucky you! Well, you said she was to call you about the time she wanted to drop by, so DONT ANSWER! Then make nice with some excuse when you talk to her later and she asks about it. You know what the visit is going to be about, they want to "ENCOURAGE" you, barf! Dont put yourself through it, who needs that kind of aggrivation. Should be that your mother would come by to visit with her daughter first, but I know first hand how they put anything witness ahead of us. Hang in there.

No Bibles or Miracles for Me!
by Farkel init would be absurd for god to give mankind a book or books which explain what god expects of us.
unless god at all times remained personally responsible for making sure his "book for all mankind" remained in its pure, original form, it would end up being currupted.
as time passes, language evolves.

Wow Farkel, you really just opened up my mind to something I had never ever thought to think about or question. But you really do make alot of sense, everything you said, I am still just soaking it in, and the more I think about it, it seems logical. Guess we were not taught to be logical being witnesses, just to blindly accept and obey. On the Jesus marrying point, I saw a 48 hours or some progam like it, that talked about how there is a whole group of supposed experts who say that he did marry, and that Mary Magdalene was his wife. They also say that in Davincis "the last supper" he actually painted Mary Magldalene sitting to the left of Jesus in the picture, so would be to his right. There is supposed to be some evidence of this that was protected during the inquisition and is supposed to be out there somehwere. Kind of off your subject, but you made me think of that program.

I just have to say this
by onacruse inkate is the heart and soul of my life.
she and i talk about sooooo many things, and she puts up with so much of my lunacy.
together, we've picked up the shards of our exjw life and are rebuilding, rethinking, and planning for the future.. it will take time, but it feels so damn good to be on a reconstructive path.. it can be done.. craig (of the "very very thankful" class)

WTS Tells a Whopper!
by Farkel inamong dubs who are true believers(tm) they will readily admit that their religious leaders have "made mistakes.
" few of them however, will admit that their leaders are intentional and calculating liars, dirty rotten lying liars who lie in order to blind their flock and to conceal their own dirty laundary and miserable failures in both doctrine and policy.
i'll give but one example.

Thats a good find Farkel! Whats sad is, even if there was a way to show this proof to active JW's (some have commented on how witnesses dont have access to this lie evidence) they would still refuse to listen to the evidence.

Why do men "play" dumb?
by Netty inso i am here this morning with my octopus arms, making the kids breakfast with one hand, getting them dressed with the other, doing their hair with another hand brushing their teeth with another hand, etc.
you get the picture... while my husband sits at the table reading the newspaper.
both kids are complaining of sore throat and have some sort of summer cold, so i asked hime could you please get the medicine and give them some medicine, and what does he do?

To the men/boys who responded, why arent you just all a cute little bunch of "wise guys"! Thanks for all the humor,
Sassy, I do agree, they perfect the art,or at least they think they do, we see right through it anyway.
Terry, interesting comparison, dogs=men, hmmm. so you said "find treats the creature craves.."
Why, whatever do you mean?
Right, got it, so I should keep some doggy biscuits handy and I'd get better results. Leaving to the store right now to go get some kibbles n bits...

Why do some here refer to themselves as "Apostates"?
by Netty inthe only real definition of apostate i ever had was from being raised a witness.
so, i have this idea that it is an evil, wicked thing.
because of that i dont like to call myself an apostate.

But, I was thinking maybe there is a "real" definition out there, that I dont know of. Could anyone of any religion become an apostate, what does it really mean? Do you refer to yourself or think of yourself as an apostate?

So I am here this morning with my octopus arms, making the kids breakfast with one hand, getting them dressed with the other, doing their hair with another hand brushing their teeth with another hand, etc. you get the picture... while my husband sits at the table reading the newspaper. Both kids are complaining of sore throat and have some sort of summer cold, so I asked hime could you please get the medicine and give them some medicine, and what does he do? Nothing. So I ask again, and then he complains "Where is it, I dont know where it is (the medicine he means) so I said "ITS OUTSIDE IN THE MAILBOX WHERE IT GOES!" He is not really that dumb! He's not I know hes not. Then when he managed (I'm just so proud of him) to get it out of the fridge, (where it goes) I asked him to give it to the kids and he didnt know how much to give, so I said "TURN IT AROUND AND READ THE LABEL, LIKE WE'VE BEEN DOING NOW FOR SEVEN YEARS SINCE WE HAD OUR FIRST CHILD!" not that dumb, I know he's not.
K, I feel waaaay better now.

Breaking the habbit...
by Nightside_of_Eden ini quit jw not too long ago.
and i have a question.
what are you're xperiences with getting in the 'normal' live with doing birthday's etc?
-
Netty
Yes, alot of things do feel very strange, if not even scary at first, due to all the brainwashing and conditioning against birthdays/holidays/celebrating etc. But its like anything the more you do it, the more used to it you get. Do you ever get a real "normal" life back after the JWs, I personally dont think so. But then again what is normal after all? What you create is your own norm, what is normal for you. What makes it easier for me to really feel ok about doing non jw things, like holidays and such, is watching how thrilled my children get. I get alot of enjoyment out of that. So, I focus on the fun part if it, like that. Getting comfortable doing these things can be a slow process for some (others may adapt more quickly I think), so take it one step at a time. Its cool when you ge to the point where it really is FUN!
ciao!
