Did you AWAKEN from the JWs by yourself?
by cultBgone ini was thinking about how so many posters here on jwn are frustrated and frantic to help their loved ones get away from the brainwashing of jws, and how much advice is given about how to help family members and loved ones.
i considered my own leaving and that it was internal turmoil based on the teachings getting weirder and child abuse issues, to name just a few, and it made me wonder:.
did you self-awaken or were you assisted by the gentle proddings of a friend or family member?

Awakened on my own due to stumbling on the IB. Boy was I shocked at first but then I later realized that it was just another religion that believes it's the one true religion.

Be honest post do all posters on this site believe the bible is 100% or has flaws?
by booker-t inwe in the psychology/sociology field have a saying "when people protest too loud usually they are overcompensating".
i did not understand that when i first started studying psychology but now i understand it completely and it is so true.
when i hear someone constantly bashing something or someone such as gay bashing or ethnic bashing or religion bashing sometimes i wonder what are they hiding.

How have they proven it? Through BS speculations with no proof? And believe me man, the Watchtower has told more lies than the Devil himself. It is all in their history over 100+ years.

Wt today and funding special pioneers
by Daisychaindream indoes anyone else feel like it was just a way to beg for donations!!!.
the society gives them a minimal wage to preach 130 hours so we should be the ones sending them money and good and clothes.
it's not like they help the community they go to, i've known missionaries when i was younger who were in deepest darkest soith america in villages with no water, instead of passing in skills and worthwhile tools they just study then go home.

think witnesses are required to give a monthly waiver or donation. I'm just not sure. It is still voluntary work but they guilt people into giving wages.

GREAT QUOTES, but filtered to include Jehovah's Witnesses
by Terry ingreat quotes viewed with jw's in mind_______________________________________ some people die at 25 and arent buried until 75. benjamin franklin________________________________________________jehovahs witnesses stop growing, improving, learning when they accept the watchtowers misnamed truth.
lost souls waiting at a bus stop for a bus that never comes; all the great things they could have done, people they could have helped, productive lives they could have led are suffocated by standing there waiting for armageddon to solve every problem for them.___________________________________________________ most people are other people.
their thoughts are someone elses opinions.

"JW’s begin with a delusion: they are automatically right."
Yes! That is why it is so hard to actually tell them anything about their organization. They are not open-minded.

Interesting conversation today with a very sick JW
by joe134cd ini was talking to a jw friend of mine who is going for tests to see if she needs evasive surgery.
she was describing to me the look on the surgeons face when she told him she won't except blood.
i just felt sorry for her.

If the person believes it has merit with their whole heart then it does not matter how ridiculus the belief or practice. I would have suggested you tell her about the organ transplants and blood fractions but shes ill and does not need that drama. Also she would have made an excuse for those cases no matter what. It is a good thing you did not speak but perhaps you could have got her thinking. But when a person is sick or disabled and it has something to do with their religion, it makes them even more unsusceptible to their beliefs. I guess that is because they truly believe God wants them to not take blood because they were indoctrinated to accept that in the first place. Very inane and maybe even dismal.
