So im at the meeting after its over and this elder says to me that God needs my voice because he, the elder, feels that my singing is not loud enough. I did not tell him this, but singing just is not my thing. He then went on saying how gods people are better singers than "the worlds singers". The elder asked me who I thought was a good singer and i told him i thought michael jackson had a magnificent voice. Then he asked me: "What if michael Jackson sung lies about your mother in his music. Would you not be upset?" After I told him of course he went on a rant about how christendom and churches sing lies about God and jesus, and that the Worst sounding voice in the congregation is better than the singers of the world in jehovahs eyes. Now what does everyone here think about this and are there any similar experiences?

My "Un-Witnessing" Comments for this Upcoming Sunday's Watchtower.
by objectivetruth ini won't be there (fortunately) but perhaps my warm encouragement and hard work, in preparing these comments will help someone, who has the burden of attending the meetings, give a good un-witness.. 3. while on earth, how did jesus follow his fathers example?.
answer - jesus at john 9:4 gave us a very important reminder, he said "we must do the works of the one who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no man can work.
" the figurative night that jesus was likely referencing was amos 5:18 where it says "woe to those who yearn for the day of jehovah!

Today's wt "study" obfuscations
by prologos inparagraph 9 : " jesus blood validates the new covenant -- makes posiible the forgiveness sins for all time#.-- [and]--.
god could apply the value of jesus' shed blood to adams descendants--*.
--he could** also adopt certain --humans "as sons"--".

I don't think most truly understand it even after a while. I guess they might just say "well it is what jehovah says" and dismiss it. So in a since, a lot of witnesses are not confused because they do not even analyze anything in the magazines.

What Do the Bible & JW.ORG Really Teach!
by The Searcher in1) the bible tells us there will be one flock under christ!
(john 10:16).
- "today, the vast majority of the eight million disciples of jesus are not spirit-anointed.

The jw religion is mostly about the Governing body right now in their entirety. The true mediator hardly even gets mentioned. And the only time (mostly) he is centered around a public discourse is during the Memorial. Meanwhile, the "faithful and discreet slave" are alluded to every meeting.

Jw's attitudes toward the act of baptism
by _Morpheus ini attended (meaning was emotionally blackmailed) a jw baptisum ceremony today.
i was awestruck at the "event" status given this.
to be sure it wasnt the first time i witnessed it but for whatever reason it really stood out to me what a spectical they have turned this into.

But is not that the point of getting baptized in the bible? To show your faith in the public? However the baptism is pretty much only about image for the witnesses.

JWs say, "They don't judge"
by skeeter1 inwhat is up with jws?
lately, i've heard this line, "we don't judge .
but, doesn't everyone judge?

If they believe most if not all things not associated with their organization is controlled by the Devil then they will judge everything. Everything from the weather, the way people act, world news, and etc. As soon as they even meet a person who is not a witness, they instantly try to connect every little thing to Satan. That person may have done a simple mistake but witnesses will think in their head "they wouldn't be doing that if they were in the organization". And that person over half the time didn't even do anything wrong. I agree that we all judge continuously but most jws always judge at an extreme.

Did you AWAKEN from the JWs by yourself?
by cultBgone ini was thinking about how so many posters here on jwn are frustrated and frantic to help their loved ones get away from the brainwashing of jws, and how much advice is given about how to help family members and loved ones.
i considered my own leaving and that it was internal turmoil based on the teachings getting weirder and child abuse issues, to name just a few, and it made me wonder:.
did you self-awaken or were you assisted by the gentle proddings of a friend or family member?

Awakened on my own due to stumbling on the IB. Boy was I shocked at first but then I later realized that it was just another religion that believes it's the one true religion.
