  thanks to all of the friends here at jwn who commented and encouraged me on my 1st and 2nd post.

  it was pointed out that my 1st post was on page 5 of the recent elders thread and that i should properly introduce myself with a new thread.

  the lightgrowsbrighter name is somewhat of play on words.

  How do you overcome this JW excuse?

  during one of those meetings that took place before my jc, one of the elders, who was a good friend of mine back then and used to come up with a few outlandish personal views about some teachings, attempted to counter one of my arguments like this:.

  eden - "well, if the truth doesn't change, why is it that what we teach as 'truth' has changed over the years (several examples given)?

  how can we dogmatically claim at any given moment that we have 'the truth' if our teachings keep changing?".

  Gotta agree with a lot here. It is like what terri said from one post: jws believe they are automatically right and will Never consider the organization being wrong. Just unreasonable.

  Is God an atheist ?

  yes, god says all the time in the bible that it's no god upon him.. technically, doesn't that mean he's an atheist?.

  God cannot be an atheist because he loves his son jesus, who is referred to as a god in the bible.

  If that student is not having a personal blood issue, then he probably would just disregard that teaching and automatically agree. Like what the second poster said, they most likely have been indoctrinated. Hey, they might even think that they can accept just blood period if they don't understand fractions.

  Great list. ima show this to my depressed jw aunt. ima tell her that the problem jw.org is helping its members appreciate, is not with a husband hitting his wife, but her need to pray to Jehovah to adjust her thinking and the need to be more loving to her abusive husband.

  as we all know, the internet is a real game-changer in allowing us to know the truth about the watch tower and its history.

  i always had doubts and it was the internet that presented me with the ever-growing number of individuals who were going through a similar struggle.. i give the internet a 9 in my awakening.
