  Should sexual predators be released into society?

  my question stems from a case arising in contra coast county, california.

  the state wants to release a sexually violent predator into the community of martinez, under a strict release program, including monitoring and therapy.

  cary verse is a jehovah's witness and wants to live in the neighborhood of a kingdom hall.

  I read a local paper yesterday which said many who have been convicted in the US for molestation before 1994 are having the convictions overturned because a Judge overturned a previous decision which dealt with the statute of limitations on the time period involved between the offense and charges.

  Anyone know anything about this? I'll copy Amazing as it may affect the class action suits.

  As far what to do to a child molestor, I don't know...I hope I'm never faced with that dilemma.

  I certainly wouldn't hide it to PROTECT Gods pure organization that's supposed to be his job.

  My wife keeps planning for us to go so that I can really see Jah does direct the Org, but I'll only go if your the tour guide.

  BTW why would your old buddy want to share a room with a guy who's previous roomate liked using the trapdoor(Not that there's anything wrong with that if its between two consenting adults.......Whew)

  I do have to agree with Mizpah

  I really don't blame individual Jehovah's Witnesses as much as I do the organization that controls and smoothers any initiative that one may have.

  I know there are many who do not see the Org as the guilty one but it does teach hate. I hear 2 and 3 yr old children being told repeatedly Jah hates birthdays, Jah hates Christmas who wants you to celebrate these things yes that's right children Satan...and Jah hates Satan doesn't he. There is alot of love in the congregations but it's conditional on acceptance of all the GB regulations and teachings which turns it into something which is similar to a club or an association. In unions you often hear ones calling each other brother and sister and they have rules and guidelines to follow, judicial hearings and grievance meetings which often makes me think of the JW arrangements.

  Maybe we should unionize the organization...Do you think the CAW would be interested Who wants to be a shop steward?

  i'm just 20 but i've been sexually active from a fairly young age and i've dated for a few years now.

  i have never felt i was in love with anyone.

  Ahhh......To be young and pretty, I remember it well. Dancing through the fields with my friends, ducking and weaving as we throw rocks and crab apples at each other.

  Stacy your absolutly correct...At 20 you seem quite sure of yourself and the direction you are heading, you are at the steering wheel why complicate things at this point.

  All that being said I have to decline your invitation for dancing and a movie..I know you havn't asked yet officially but all the signs are there. I think you bypassed a few stages and are already in denial.....Stacy it just can't work hunny...I'm not old enough yet. I need to be closer to my mid-life crisis age and then after I buy a Corvette and have a little reconstructive surgery we'll talk

  Just Get Over It?

  in the last couple of days ive been reading info on the un & wts ...so have been pretty absorbed with the amount of info out there on the wts...

  anyway...it hasnt been that long since i left the wts...and a close friend of mine (never a witness) said to me ,twice now, and rather strongly again today...

  "its over, you have left, get over it...your obsessed with this, who cares, just get over it before it drives you mad...its really pathetic"

  I'm not going insane and your (probably) not either.

  The word for me was obsessed...and not by the devil. I researched for hours everyday for several months on everything imaginable until I had acumulated a mountain of shit on the organization...then I started to realize it didn't matter how much more shit I added to the pile..it was still shit.

  Sometimes I dig out my shit and look through it just to confirm it again..and yep....it's still shit.

  i was asked to donate to my parents anniversary gift, now my dad died 10 years ago, but my brothers and sisters still get my mom something every year.. me being the smart ass that i am sometimes, said, "isn't this a pagan custom, why are we celebrating such a thing, since mom and dad were married in a catholic church, long before they became witnesses.".

  my brother says, "this is an arrangement by jehovah.

  " i said "no it's not, do i have to repeat myself, mom and dad were not witnesses when they got married, therefore jehovah did not bless the marriage did he.

  I've never heard of ones getting remarried after joining the borg.

  I've never heard of celebrating an anniversary after one of the mates dies either. Maybe a kind of rememberence of sorts but not an anniversary with gifts.

  I had a relative tell me about a group of JW's getting together to celebrate being Canadian Citizens....They are from Korea and were celebrating 5 or 10 years as Canadians. I said WHAT....why don't they wait until Canada day to do that, and got the dirty look. Have you ever heard of anything like that?

  any speculation as to why ct russel requested to be wrapped in a toga on that fateful haloween night in 1916 -- his deathbed?

  could it be he felt his physical body would be raptured to heaven and that he should have "clean, pure, white" garments?.

  The Finished Mystery said he had a headache everyday for twenty years and sometimes went days without sleep......It would not surprise me if Rutherford poisoned him!

  Logan.... could there be a Masonic connection..he did like their emblems! Or what about the Knights Templar..they hold things like the shroud of Turin in high regard.

  Maybe it was symbolic of a Robe washed white so that he could be presented Holy to God.

  Hard to say what was going on in their minds, most of it was garbage and not worth a nickel.

  i was doing some research and noticed that the baptism questions were changed several times over the years.

  the questions in 1973 were as follows: *** w73 5/1 280 baptizing follows discipling *** if you feel the same about serving jehovah god and taking christs yoke upon you, we suggest that you consider the following two questions, which are asked of candidates for baptism:.

  (1) have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognizing yourself before jehovah god as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the father, through his son jesus christ?

  I thought the question promoted in the bible was...Hey... here's a body of water what's preventing me from getting baptized? Phillip says.....nuttin...Then after the joyous occassion he heads back to Ethiopia and sends his monthly service report via camel express to the GB in Jerusalem.

  When you look at that second question being asked after 1985 you have to laugh....Damn why didn't I say NO.

  Can you imagine the 3000 who were baptized in a single day in the first century saying something like that. They hadn't even been identified by the name christian yet.

  i haven't been on this board for a while.

  i've been on a conservative ezboard trying to see if we can't do something about political issues.

  i've also got a new job, had to get the car fixed, been best man in a wedding, and watched the two towers on vhs.
