i am curious to know how many others shared the same experiences as me as a child, growing up as a jw.. surfing this board has brought back a flood of memories ( i am secure enough to deal with them) not all good.
i have been away from jws for sometime, and remember being a child in school and having to explain why i do not salute the flag, why i have to leave the room when there is a birthday or christmas party, why i had to explain when i was seen going door to door ( i grew up to be a pioneer).
being "different" is hard for a child.. now that i have 3 children of my own, who are fortunatelly not growing up as jw, to see how secure and well adjusted they are in school is comforting.
For all of you who have been deprived of christmas all your life I want to help...You can send me a gift this year...I know, I know it's a sacrafice on my part but anything to help.
School sucked for me also...I was always the only JW child in every school I went to until high school...Then in high school a fellow dub introduced me to pot...that's a another topic.
if someone spoke about how witnesses don't accept medical treatment or do not believe in doctors, would you correct those comments?
if someone posted that jw's are just av bunch of child molesters, would you feel impelled to clarify the statement?
I usually correct them and then tell them they are going to die at armageddon.
well i guess this is a though one, but i will as you what do you think i sould do as it has been bugging me for for the past week.. .
here is, i've been divorced form my ex wife since july and seperated since the new year, i always liked here but could not stand all the bull from being da'd as here friends and mine could not talk and meet anymore because of this.
now she wants me back (she is still a dub) and would like for me to go back and marry her again, this time at the kingdom hall and simply being incative, doing what i want but being with me, so all could be normal again, i know i would have to fake all again to be re-instated, and bullshit all until i get married, then do nothing just be a dub in title, so that i could be again with the one i love???

Having children really compounds the situation.

maybe, but i figure 1/11th of $30 million is worth it!.
i just bought (along with a few others from work) my first lottery ticket.
the only problem is, if we win, our pics and names get published, and if a dub sees it, then it's curtains for yours truly.. i'm maybe the only person in this area's lottery history who is ambivalent about winning $2.72 million.. but i think i could adjust!

i work during the day and don't get to watch ophra (gee that's too bad huh) but thought we could post a few of the books we've read to help us or we enjoyed reading along with a brief comment.
recently i've read breaking the bonds on winston's advice...it was a good read and opened my mind as to the control the wt organization has over its members, how it works and possibly the steps to combat it....i plan on slowly trying a few of the many suggestions contained in the book especially about instilled phobias.
presently i'm reading who wrote the bible on stillajwxelder's advice and it is a fantastic book which explains with clarity the most logical theories about who truly wrote the bible and why....highly recommend this book
Maybe at a later date bittersweet I've been a little too depressed to read anything more on abuse in a JW family. Some day maybe..just not now.

no doubt the doctors administered blood transfusions to keep him alive.
he is not out of the woods yet, but had he been a jehovah's witness, he surely would be dead.. just my thoughts,.
