Do you buy flowers? or should he only? and if you are a guy, do you care?

when i was single and not dating anyone, i bought myself flowers if i felt like it...they just add that extra touch to the home.. .

but when dating, i tend to not buy them as much, because i don't want the guy to feel bad.. .

for instance right now.. my bf has messed up big time and although i would prefer he picked me up flowers for just the 'i am thinking of you" kind of thing.. i realize most guys do not do that... but he keeps talking about picking me up flowers.. he has for a month!

I'll only comment on the flower aspect as you've received lots of input into the other subject..
By all means buy flowers if they brighten your day and lift your spirits, gawd knows we all need that. If you live in the city or work in an office fresh flowers at work or at home seem to enrich any surroundings through they're colour and aroma.
I've never bought flowers for anything else but a surprise, never to apolagize and I've only ever received flowers from my daughter.
Buttercups being the most fun, cuz then you see who likes butter.

Dubs who shun those not DFed/DAed who fade

lately i have been reading alot about those who cease the dub life, and though they are not officially dfed or daed, are treated as though they are by dub family and friends.

when i was a dub , i remember viewing those who did not come to meeting's anymore nor field service......as simply "weak" or inactive.

never do i remember shunning or snubbing those who seemed to fade away.

The way it happened in congregations where I was either a pub or MS was usually two different scenario's....
There was the private gossip in the field service which filtered from those inthe know to those who speculated....this form of destructive critism marks someone subtly but marks them none the less. They are not invited to get-togethers or weddings because they are not putting Jah first...this unless it's known that they have a physical ailment...even then sometimes that is not enough to excuse regular attendance.
For the most part I did not see outright shunning unless someone had been df'd, da'd or reproved either publically.
Remember these dubs are swamped in meeting, study and service...the only contact they have is with ones who are regular....
Gotta run Gumby...BTW I'm not shunning you I've just been real busy of late

this is really for the guys, but i know the woman here will have some great insights for us stupid men so i hope y-all will offer up your best.. when the woman i am with starts to tear up or cry i feel totally helpless and useless.

this is one of the most dreaded situations i as a man can ever find myself in.

my older brother, the retired police chief, would get angry if a woman started to cry when he was writing her a ticket, he felt it was an act.

It pretty much makes me shut down completely when a woman cries...
My wife does it when-ever we start to discuss where we are headed and even though she says she tries not to it pretty much ends the conversation.
When my mother cried it nearly killed me, cuz she never cries over anything... yet I made her cry by rejecting da troof.

in fact much like fundlmentlists today.you have joshua comiting genocide , and paul moving in and tacking control of the christians and changing the religion to his own beliefs.

which other characters actions can be interpreted differenly when you see them just as ordinary humans with more selfish motives?

Lot....Wife turned to salt, slept with his daughters...too drunk to remember but not to drunk to get them pregneant...this after he offered them up to the mob.
Elisha...killing kids for acting like kids...two she bears kill 52 kids while they run around in circles letting the bears catch them.
Samson...Killing people for their clothes to pay a debt and them catching 300 foxes tieing their tails together with a torch in between them....have you ever tried to to tie two cats tails together...I haven't because the blood loss on my part would be to great.

As an XJW if bad things happen to you it's Satan, but on the other hand if good things happen to you it's Satan...hmmm wait a minute how can that be....
Oh and if bad things happen to a dub it's Satan but if good things happen then it's Jehovah...whew...glad Jehovah is doin sumpin for someone.
