They should have Dirty Harry on the cover of that Nov WT
"Do you want to LIVE FOREVER?", Well do ya Punk!
Mary, don't mention tight jeans and hot farts in the same sentence.
rarely will you find a picture of someone in the awake or watchtower wearing jeans.
even in there so-called paradise on earth illustrations, men can be doing dirty work in the farm, and be wearing slacks.. for example, in the november 15th wt entitled, "do you want to live forever?
", page 7 has another paradise illustration, which has to be one of the most socially-engineered pictures i have ever seen.. the caption, "love for god and neighbor will make living forever worthwhile".

a friend i know said that his book study overseer was talking about some of the points made at the annual general meeting of jehovahs witnesses held early this month.
he mentioned that the overseer said that bethany hughes, the young canadian girl who was forced 38 blood transfusions, was named as one of the most important people in canada in a survey.
strangely enough, the overseer never mentioned the father or his stand against the transfusions.
I think there is some kind of survey which took place where around 150,000 people were named and they are deciding by the number of votes who is number one.
He mentioned that the overseer said that Bethany Hughes, the young Canadian girl who was forced 38 blood transfusions, was named as one of the most important people in Canada in a survey.
I think she was definetly one of the most important people in the world to her dad and that's all that matters.
my wife was telling me last night that she had met a girl, age 21 in her class who is an ex-jw.
this girl had daed herself, and is now being shunned by her parents.
she had called her mother to tell her that she is engaged, and her mother told her "i'm not happy for you".
Way to go Mrs Nosferatu
So many who have left over the years still have feelings of guilt because on some level they still think it's the (truth) and they are not worthy or can't live up to the standards required...free yet not free.

Big Tex....If I remember correctly Nina calls you SquareBob No-Pants for some reason!
one thing i've seen on this board is that fear has been a motivator for many to stay on as witnesses.
jws are afraid to get the elders mad at them, hurt their families.
they're afraid to be talked about and dissected by the "brothers and sisters" because they are not considered up to par.
Fear has always been a huge motivator the WTBTS uses with great skill, years of practise.
I have the occasional panic attack when I contemplate non-existence which I never had to deal with as a dub but overall freedom of mind kicks ass!
.
on my "good faith" estimate that the mortgage company gave me several months ago they put $100 per month.
i have been calling around and i'm hearing things like $3250 a year ($271 a month).. did the mortgage company twist the numbers to help reel me in?
That will teach you for buying Beth Sarim so that you can live like a Prince...ya bastard!
Sounds pretty steep Elsewhere, that sounds more like annual property tax than insurance.
Where I live a 300K home would cost about $2500 a year in taxes and around $500 to $800 for insurance depending on coverage.
Of course not everyone likes to live in an Igloo!
Cult
They even meet every criteria they set out in the Reasoning book to define a cult.
Then again, can you really take the WTBTS seriously when they print a book with Reason in the title?
.
well, there has been a lot of religious and historical debate going on this topic, as we are all aware.. but i'd like to know what is your personal take, at the moment being.. all contributions welcome.
thanks!
My take at the present time.....
A compassionate man with a gift for expressing himself, powerful in his convictions and truly empathetic to his fellowman. A man who was deified by the Roman Empire and without whom would have slipped into relative obscurity as many other great and influential people have over the ages.
on my way home last night from work i ran into a prominent elder from brooklyn.
this guy is always featured at circuit assemblies and his family was presented as the model witiness family in the 80's.
well imagine my shock and surprise when i realized that this dub had just bought a lottery ticket.
Unfreakin believable!
Jehovah is gonna smite his ass!
