Nice Job Sirona...that's Job not Job...you know what I mean damn it.
I picked the book up a couple times but could not force myself to read it.
i read the draw close to jehovah book because a jehovahs witness told me that it had some ?deep?
spiritual information in it.
the book appears, at first glance, to be all about knowing jehovah god and his attributes.

bit of background.
i grew up as a jw i left the church when i was 14 because a ministerial servant who was conducting a one on one baptism study with me said that i couldn't ballance my dreams of being a professional singer with the so called "truth".
i stopped the study and told my mom i no longer wanted to be a witness.
Sick in the pit of the stomach, combined with anxiety attacks knowing now that I know nothing at all and deep fear that my family would not believe me!
recently there have been discussions about the immortal soul, v's the wts beliefs, so i thought i'd present a little heard of (in jw circles) doctrine of the soul that seeks to explain some passages of scripture that are usually avoided.. first of all, leo posted some fascination information, which gives some background on the bible's general teaching on the soul:.

the doctrine itself surrounds two texts in particular, which i quote from the nwt:.

I was sure Tri-part man must be a Scottish Superheroe or something..one that drinks Beer, Scotch and Guinness...
Guinness don't count as beer because it's a meal in itself!

church faces abuse complaints .
jehovah's witness policy: address issues internally .
by annmarie timmins.
Child molesting is right up there with smoking according to Brown
If the complaint is confirmed, an abuser is invited to repent, Brown said. (The same procedure is followed for other serious sins, including smoking, drinking and stealing, Brown said.)
is there a "need" on your part to regain some form of spirtuality?
at this point in time, do you not want to hear anything about god, the bible, jesus, buddah, etc.?????
are you still "searching"?
Afterall, all we need is love. Isn't that what Jesus said?
Wasn't that John Lennon?
so, i'm finishing up an introductory yoga class in a couple of weeks and am contemplating which direction i want to go in after this (besides, of course, contemplating my chakras..haha).
between my work, "real" classes and gobs and gobs of glorious sexual experiences with beautiful women i probably only have time for one "extra" pursuit in the physical-spiritual realm.
i've enjoyed yoga -- it's worked well for the mind/body -- but am flirting with the idea of tai chi.
Bradley, don't be swayed by that Aikido evangelizer
You would find it an honor to step into the dogo (Most honourable Bradley-san ) and observe a part of his seminar if even for an hour. Call them up and see if they allow observers.
Paul said the physical torture he endured at his classes were the next best thing to S & M.

Not so much a spiritual void but giving up the idea that you know what the future will bring leaves a void to some degree. Death does a have a sting when you don't believe there is eternal life in store...at least it does for me at times...then I shake my head and try to realize that truth is better than fiction...isn't it?
I do feel a void in that as boring as the meetings were and no matter how much I hated service, I miss the alot of people that I used to see at the hall, bookstudy and so on.
I kinda feel like a hermit now, people act funny too when you approach them at the grocery store and try to start a conversation with "Hey ever been part of cult"
i know of more than one situation when two young jw's (say, 15 and 16) who have been caught "fornicating" and been given the option of getting married or getting df'd.
any one else seen this happen?
Hey..there has only been one
remember how the witnesses used to always say that even if they didn't meet anyone home, just being seen by traffic on the street was a witness?
as if the people driving by are saying to themselves, "wow, look at those servants of the true god, bringing the waters of life to my door.
if only i weren't so bull-headed, i might listen to them and attain a good relationship with my creator.
SNG
I even remember some service overseers saying it was a witness to the angelsguess they need the encouragement watching all their Debil worshipping brothers having fun tormenting mankind.
