There are a few good points there tower man but I think mainly for the situation you described..A JW calls at your door....
The same tactics will not work for most of us on the forum as we are considered apostates and as soon as we open our mouth another layer of bricks gets added to the wall you descibe.

Most days I'd like to tie them to a chair and preach out of the Finished Mystery to them for about two hours non-stop. Then I'll pull out Millions now living will never Die and recite another hour. To top it all off I'll throw a bucket of water on them and then read Crisis of Conscience.
Then again after the way many of them have treated my fellow humans like yourselves I might tell them to F---Off.

in perusing the postings here in the "friends" section, i notice how many of us are still hashing over and rehashing the evils of the organization we were a part of, and how it hurt us, etc.
i got kinda down reading it.

Funny...I found the forum positive. Although many of the topics may be considered negative or comments at times are negative for the most part I have found alot of caring and loving people who give me hope where I have none and a brighter outlook for the future where for me the future looks bleak.
But to each individual the experience is different. There seems to be a few devout JW's which frequent the site to defend Jehovah God from the forum, born agains, agnostics you name it they're here.
Before I came to the forum I was told I was alone in my doubts and understanding of the WT...except for Satan apparently he is on my side. I think most here want to be positive, you can see it in the humour, kind words and also how much passion goes into many of the replies.
Cru I have found it helpful when someone makes a comment that seems outragously harsh or they take an issue personally take the time to look at the post history of that individual...at least you get an idea of where they come from and maybe why it struck a nerve with them. More often than not after you do that you feel like sending them a long distance hug and a note to say I'm sorry for the pain you've endured.
If its only positive communication you want then send me a PM and we can swap e-mail addresses and I'll send you pictures of my daughter and we can discuss everything but the WTBTS.

Yesterday when I got home my wife related her day with our child and how they spent it visiting another sister and her children. It was great for our daughter and encouraging for her also. I asked how so...She then relates this is actually the sisters second marriage the first one ended after ten years because her first husband had become (((Apostate))) they finally split and got divorced. How it built her up spiritually and that she has such a strong relationship with Jehovah now, he blessed her with a new mate and children also. My wife said I did not tell her my situation but it was encouraging to see another sister do the right thing and how she was blessed by Jehovah.
I wanted to ask why he became apostate...was it the false teachings or the scandals and cover-ups he couldn't accept. I didn't but felt sick to my stomach because I knew it was a subtle attack directed at me.
If love was snot this Organization would not have enough to blow its nose

since the beginning of the time, till the 19th century and more, most of stories and songs for kids, was made to scary them with a moral at the end.
to me, the bible is one of kind of that type of book (for children we are inside).
The bible has affected the world but what if the Romans had not made Christianity the state religion and forced it on all of its territories?
Would it be what it is today without all of the explorers taking Christianity and forcing it down the throats of natives in one country after another?
What if after the Holy Wars the Victorious Muslims had started a reverse campain to dominate the world with its religous teachings?
Maybe we would all be bowing down to Mecca right now...........................................
mine was when i was about ten years old or so back in the mid sixties.
we had a guy in our k.hall who actually lived through the 1914 experience (earl senior).
he was well into his seventies i guess even then and was one of the annointed.
I was just a kid and watched a news program where one of the GB was being interviewed...The reporter asked what Theocratic warfare was and the Annointed brother said he had never heard that term before. The reporter asked again you have never heard that term before and showed him a KM with it in and he denied it again and said he was not familiar with it. I waited for a cock to crow and my mom assured me he was not lying but it was fear of man and it should give us strength to see that even Jah's annointed FDS even have to contend with it.....At the time I thought bullshit.....he lied, I'm 12 and I've heard the term a hundred times.

That's sound advice but you'll have to admit once your in and baptized its too late to research both sides as only one side will be considered Gods side no matter what the evidence.

in perusing the information on randy watter's bethelite guest file, i came across a real shocker: an ex-bethelite turned missionary, mike adams, therein alleges to have murdered a missionary couple in the samoa missionary home where he was also assigned, and to having done 14 years in prison for the crime.
