New Light and Tacking in the wind

i am not and never have never been a jw, nor do i intend to be, but for personnel reasons have become interested in their beliefs and practices of, as seeminly bizzare as they are.. the similar doctrinal change examples of new light, and of a sail boat tacking in the wind, to provide justification for their continual changes, when they occur, confuses me somewhat.

if the jw's believe that the "end" is just around the corner, or "soon" as one will probably tell you, is the light at its brightest at this point in time; does the sail boat reach port?

is there a "last light" that may indicate in some way, shape, or form, when the end will take place?

007 Dub

I have known of Elders and MS to have all night stake outs of baptized dubs who are suspected of having affairs or have split and the remaining loyal dub wants a scriptural divorce.

The sad thing is, talk to any elder and they tell you they don't have to catch them or see anything other than that this person spends the night at a different residence. This qualifies because everyone knows those who fall away from Jah's Org are can't be trusted.

Other than that, spies are not needed because every dub is taught to turn in his mother, brother or best friend if they are seen doing something contrary to popular belief of the day.

i just returned from sunny southend-on-sea (essex, england) to bring my mum back for the winter.

it's somewhat like the swallows returning to wherever they return, but more expensive.

i like the uk but i hate the trip.

what happens when you don't believe...?

a couple of weeks ago my husband and i had a conversation, and it made me think that even before we started dating i was comfortable with the fact that he had a strong connection with the spiritual.

he takes it (if that?s the right expression) a bit further than most people though.

he has told me that he believes in ghosts, elves, faeries (?the little people silly), santa claus, the easter bunny, the loch ness monster, atlantis, astral projection, alien abductions, zeus, athena, telekinesis, voodoo, santa ria, astrology, reiki, and communicating with aliens that reside on the pleiades.

He also claims that he sits on a special council in the dream world. I still support and respect his beliefs.
