Did you notice all the i- pads?! Sorry, to bring up the Memorial again, but I was too busy to post sooner. It's only been about 8 months since I stopped attending and when I left only a handful (2-3 people) used their ipads at the KH. During the song at the Memorial, probably one out of every 7-8 persons was singing from his i- pad. Did anyone else here who attended notice how many ipads were being used? It was really odd for me to see.

Also before the speaker read the first scripture he stated that if anyone was visiting and wanted a revised Bible they could receive one or even "download it for free." Then the letter read by the chairman at the end encouraged everyone to visit jw.org.

Gross.

why is it that we never had coffee/tea after the meeting??

We have a little kitchen with a Keurig and K-cups . . .for the pioneers. It's in a tiny cold room that used to be the nursing mother's room, when the first nursing mother's room was made into an office for the elders who didn't want to sit in their seats the whole meeting. Now there is no nursing mother's room, and if I had baby I would attend just to whip my boob out in front everyone and nurse just to make a point.

Hmmm. I watched/listened to the video. The crassness of the "gentleman" off camera is very clear. I hope those affected by child abuse find a real professional organization to help them.

This will make no difference. This is exactly what happened last year within the corporation that employs me. We have branches (congregations) with managers (Presiding overseers or whatever they are called now). We then have regional type managers (circuit overseers) in charge of 10 or so branches and they combined had a manager (district overseer). We removed the last manager (district oveerseer) and in our area made him a one of those in charge of 10 or so branches (circuit overseer.) When the changes were first mentioned it was a big deal, but after a month most people forgot it even happened. The corporation now saves tons of money not having to pay the salary of these men and no one cares.

What is with the WT obsession with King David??

it seems like at least once a month he is brought up as a good example in the study wt.

it seems like he is given more praise than jesus.

They are a bit obsessed with David, which always posed a problem for me because I never liked the guy. I couldn't understand why he was portrayed as such as outstanding faithful example. He was an adulterous murderer.

Would it be worse to have your child missing and his face on the side of a milk carton or to lose him spiritually and he leave the truth? I stopped listening after he asked that question.
