1914 has already been ditched. We have divorced any significant events from that date with the latest teachings. It used to be that 1914 was the beginning of the great tribulation, separating of sheep and goats, Christ's return. Now it is now of those things. Heck the FDS hasn't even been appointed by Christ yet. as time goes on 1914 will fade. It's being used this year to draw attention to 100 years of kingdom rule. It exists solely for marketing purposes. After this year 1914 will have Become insignificant. Many young JWs no longer believe the end is coming soon. i think many here who believe the organization can't fold are underestimating what will happen after this year.

Pioneer girls are far less likely to turn you in. They usually pioneer out of Guilt anyways. They rationalize that as long as they pioneer they are forgiven. So they make up for their bad deeds by doing more, serving temporarily in foreign countries Or on the RBC. Plus they don't want to lose the prestige of being looked up to a pioneer. And they wish to dodge everyone asking why they got deleted.

This is how to actually fight the watchtower. I would love to see the WT in the United States taken to court over civil rights violations. Private organization have the right to expel members. However JWs go too far. They use coercion And pressure to destroy family bonds. Ex members should not be subject to such harsh consequences.

Partaking publicky craps on the sacred teaching of the declining number of anointed. It makes people question the GB. totalitarian regimes only fall once large groups of people start to take a stand Against them and disobey their rules. See Detroit convention. That's why the new July watchtower warns JWs to reject controversial thoughts even if they aren't necessarily unscriptural. They are getting scared.

In all other churches everyone takes communion. Only the JWs don't. So we are the crazy ones. This new breed of partakers from what I've read, don't care if they go to heaven or not. They just believe that Jesus meant for everyone to do it. Years ago when I was a kid all the anointed I knew were Extra creaking nuts. The new breed of people rebelling are not nuts. They don't believe god chooses people through some mystical means like we teach. The GBs attempts to discredit them as mentally unstable will backfire, especially if people in their hall know they're not nuts. as one poster said, this religion began in America, hopefully it ends in America.

Your Experience with Resigning as an Elder
by committeechairman ini'm considering resigning as an elder.
i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.
and i'm completely exhausted.

The fact that resigning causes this much fear showed me that this isn't the truth. It's all about show. spirituality in jw land is all about appearances, responsibilities and hours. Caring for your family, for the sick, for the depressed and showing loved is not promoted. If you use your resignation as an opportunity to focus on these vital facets of Christian living, no one will treat you bad unless they are truly pharisiac. In fact they may actually like you more, now that they can feel more comfortable around you.

A non Jw relative who is a staunch critic of the WT attends the memorial with us every year, but just because she enjoys worshiping with her relatives. She fought against my parents becoming witnesses before I was born. She owns the book 30 years a WT slave and suggested I read it. Anyways after attending the memorial this year we finally talked last night. She's older so she doesn't use the internet much, so these ideas are her own. She said she took note that we didnt mention how many partook last year. She said during our don't partake portion of the speech, we usually compare the number of attendees to the number of par takers to reinforce the point to not partake. i hadn't even noticed that. She then says "you guys must have reached past 144,000 and are afraid to admit it because that all you guys used to talk about. The number of this and the number of that. Always a bunch of numbers." Then she went on a rant about 1914. I told her that this teaching is being fully exposed as a lie. "your parents have to know by know that something isn't right," she says. I told her that I'm sure they notice. But they're not gonna leave their social network behind. She the let me know that she can see our religion changing teachings again and that she doesn't see how they can keep doing this and saying its truth. We also discussed how the speaker used a WT that misrepresented her born again beliefs based on John 3. She was upset how badly the belief was misrepresented to make the JWs appear correct. Finally she added that any religion that puts down or attacks other religions to make themselves look good is usually insecure or hiding something. Interesting thoughts.
