1. No fun
2. Doesn't teach good decision making. JWs cannot choose the color of their underwear without first consulting watchtower publications. This stunts emotional development.
3. Discourages secular education. When young ones leave, they often missed out on opportunities to go to college. With no parental support, they are forced to begin working and cannot afford college immediately. This sets them back a few years.
4. Poor marital prospects/lack of understanding the opposite sex and relationships. Watchtower teaches that holding microphones, going in service and giving talks turns girls on. Flirting is evil. Thus young ones have no idea how to deal with the opposite sex. JWs have a fake public persona. Thus when they get married, they have no idea who they are marrying. Sexual repression also causes some to marry only for sex.
5. Complete abandonment if child doesn't choose watchtower. In modern society more and more young adults rely on the resources of their parents into their mid twenties. However, if you leave watchtower this support system dissolves.
6. Only acceptable prospects is bethel and pioneer service. JW youth are not encouraged to explore their interests or talents.

Something Big is Coming...
by notsurewheretogo inthe annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.
"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

the responses by JWs are sad. No wonder abuse goes easily undetected.

Strange story from Assembly
by Clambake ini am at the assembly and the last speaker of the day is doing some boring and cliche talk about trusting in jehovah and not being anxious and stuff.
then he starts into this story about this 11 year old boy named nigel who has cancer and is going to have a court ordered blood transfusion.. i am getting up to leave because i am thinking he is going to start into some story about he managed to get out of it and died for jehovah or something like that.
the speaker never finishes the story about what finally happened.

Great baptism numbers. Discounting deaths and disfellowshippings, that makes for a less than 1% growth.

At RC, Splane says 1000+ new KH's needed, last year only "60" new one's built.
by oppostate inso there are now regular, full time "construction servants" and their help is much needed along with regional rbc volunteers, who better get working because over a thousand kh's are needed and last year only sixty were built by the u.s. branch.
.
splane also said that just with the new baptized this weekend all over the u.s. we had one whone new circuit, so we better put more work into building needed kingdom halls..

Lol. They need a whole new circuit for those baptized. Maybe thats why come september they are dissolving 2 circuits in my area.

Most absurd thing I heard at the convention yesterday!
by Batman89 inbrother lett was giving the last talk of the day about what they supposedly accomplished in 100 years.
i was just waking up so im paraphrasing alittle(i was dosing off all day) anyways in his introduction he said.
"there is more evidence to prove gods kingdom on the earth is a reality than wind, electricity and gravity is a reality on the earth".

ive said it before, I believe the GB is now trolling us. This new group of guys don't believe the teachings. I think they are looking to give thinking people an excuse to leave. Some of their recent articles are just too deliberately dense to be accidental. The article where loesch attacked the infallibility of the pope was ridiculous. His reasoning was that if the pope was not infallible, then doesn't that mean he could be wrong? By the same token the GB has said they are not inspired or infallible. So basically he was admitting their wrong. Plus the ridiculous take on the generation teaching. That has to be an obvious troll job. It's almost as good as the fake questions from readers people post on this site. Now that they have all the money, the next step will to get people to leave. Then they can live out the rest of their lives in a nice new compound.

Stop mentioning your doubts to anyone. Just stop attending. Since youe not baptized they will leave you alone. However if you attempt to spread doubts to others, they will be forced to deal with you.

Could this happen to the Society and how?
by Giordano indisgusted by waves of scandal, irelands catholics are boycotting mass and .
turning their backs on the church.

I agree with designs. According to several studies the JWs already boast one of the highest attrition rates of any religion. It's a revolving door in JW land. Most Irish likely still identify as catholic, but have no interest in attending mass. At least they are allowed to not attend without being hounded by elders.
