Removing DO's Will Be a Fatal Mistake
by kneehighmiah inhere is an article i looked up about the collapse of the soviet union.
striking similarities.. http://www.worldology.com/europe/europe_articles/causes_soviet_collapse.htm.
stagnating economy: the soviet union had grown to a size large enough to the point where it became cumbersome to continue state planning.

Forgot this one.
Reduced Motivation of Fear: Friendlier relations with the U.S. in the 70s, 80s meant that the general public was no longer completely motivated to strengthen itself against the American threat.
The Apostate is the great JW enemy. But fear of apostates is shrinking. Many JW are ignoring warnings and viewing apostate teachings from their computers. Stating that you don't believe in the GB will not get you hauled into a comittee anymore, unless of course you tell the elders. Your secret will be safe amongst friends, though they might distance themselves.

Here is an article I looked up about the collapse of the soviet union. Striking similarities.
http://www.worldology.com/Europe/Europe_Articles/causes_soviet_collapse.htm
Stagnating Economy: The Soviet Union had grown to a size large enough to the point where it became cumbersome to continue state planning. The massive and intricate Soviet economy became too large to manage by state planners, who were unwilling to enable more autonomy at mid-managerial level to remain responsive down to a localized level. This resulted in failed economic policies (failure to respond timely to continuous changes), while thwarting innovation. Managers commonly fudged numbers to show that quotas and goals were being met.
The recent changes show that the org is failing to allow autonomy at the congregational level. They just stripped away a crucial level of autonomy. The intense levels of micro-management will be their undoing. The local elders have already been turned into unfeeling robots. Now the GB has projected themselves directly into the Kindgom Halls and Assembly halls with modern technology. This gives them the illusion of control. However, many people aren't buying it anymore. Not surprisingly the International Conventions have created a small rebellion.
Glasnost: With the Soviet public becoming more disenchanted with their secretive government, Gorbachev attempted to compensate by committing to openness and transparency with the media. However, this backfired as the public learned of long-standing political cover ups revealing past and recent atrocities, missteps by leadership, social and health failures of the USSR and the true extent of national economic problems. This further eroded support for the regime.
Cherynobyl Disaster: The nuclear power plant accident in the Ukraine town of Cherynobyl. It was initially covered up by the Soviet government, compounding the health crisis, while further sowing the seeds of distrust within the constituency, as the extent of the disaster and the cover-up came to light.
The secretive nature of the organization will soon be blown wide open. The sex abuse lawsuits will be a cherynobyl of sorts. People will no longer trust leadership. Any last minute reforms made by the GB will just lead to people in the West leaving in record numbers.
Lack of Economic Incentives: The state-planned economic system did not provide sufficient incentives to encourage innovation and ambitious productivity.
This will be a killer. With the false promise of the end being fully realized, there is no reason to resign yourself to a lifetime of slaving for the WT. All JW children have to look forward to is a life of door knocking and kingdom hall building. More and more children are defecting upon reaching adulthood, depleting the organization of compassionate caring people.

Shared some TTATT with my wife and now she wants us to have a weekly personal bible study
by suavojr inhere is the situation.... a young 19 year old in our congo had a fallout with his parents because of all the restrictions and jw dogma and moved out of the house last wednesday.. to make the story short, the parents went running to the elders and what was the comfort?.
coe said: i saw that coming!
your son never reached out to get baptized.. then the other elder said: don't worry, you still have one left that will be saved.

The Organization is expanding so much........
by DATA-DOG in...that district overseers are now being used as circuit overseers!!
that was a comment at the wt study program.
another great comment was this: " you can go to bethel and have zero skills.

At least I have honest JW's in my cong. We all agreed it was an obvious downsizing move. Others have heard rumors that not enough young people are reaching out. Some circuits don't even have an official CO and are being serviced by substitutes. The old DOs can now step in and fulfill these roles instead of them searching for new people.

GB And Change: Lessons From Soviet History
by metatron ini read an interesting book - "spymaster" by tennent bagley in which he offers a biography of a senior consultant to the kgb, based on long interviews with a man who was once his enemy (sergey kundrashev).
i believe the book proves some powerful insights into the workings of secretive totalitarian cults.. there are many parallels between the two organizations: they were both born out of 1914 events, they addressed each other as comrade/brother, they encouraged youth to become "pioneers/red pioneers", they were started as very individualistic (revolutionaries) -were then taken over and structured by an amoral thug-dictator (stalin/rutherford) , worshipped the "party/organization", emphasized collective thought over the individual, and ended up ruled by an elderly politboro/governing body - who were forced to contend with disruptive change.. .
but here's where the similarities get interesting:.

@konceptual
i disagree that there is not open dissension. Have you read the posts on the International Convention problems? People are openly refusing to obey, prompting strongly worded letters from the branch. The letters basically say how dare you not trust us and follow our direction.
Also this weekend, saturday, there was a special meeting for the secretary and COBEs from the region regarding the refusal of brothers to attend the convention. I've never heard of these levels of dissension Before. They seem unprecedented. Remember when older friends tell you how pumped up everyone would get to have such an awesome privilege? Not anymore.

I don't believe the JWs will ever change and say the 144,000 is "symbolic"
by booker-t init will never happen.
because that will definitely be the "final nail" in their coffin.
jws will not stand for it any longer.

More people will leave if they don't change. Some people belive all Christians should partake in communion. They may be torn between following a command of Jesus or being shunned and told they have a mental problem for doing what billions of Catholics dO regularly. Now these particular will feel comfortable with partaking.

Will firing the DOs be the first step to a new Watchtower?
by Juan Viejo2 inagainst my better judgement, i've decided to share the following as a response to guy pierce passing and the announcement of the elimination of district overseers later this year.. late in january (2014) i got an email from one of my contacts (a fader) who served at bethel for several years, but is no longer at wt hq.
he still has a lot of close contacts within the service department and in other departments at patterson and knows people in all of the ny offices.
i kept this email set aside on a flash drive and haven't shared it with anyone - figuring i'd publish an article about it later this year when i had more time to do it right.

Sources say they will also employ full-time construction "volunteers." Less amateurs to get in the way and screw things up.

I've heard about RBC being dissolved as well. The brother they will put in charge of the construction in each region will have the clout of a circuit overseer according to sources.
