Euphemism of course! ;-p
Yeah, yeah, easy answer, I know. Actually I found I had the most in common with Kitties & Horses and Tink. :)

who here do you really click with, someone who seems to understand just where you're coming from.
don't mention a long spiel, just the one or 2 that seem to be on your wavelength.. i'm interested to know as i'm completing an analytical graph data sheet to show who clicks with who most, in a projected sample forum example, and then hope to present my findings on the net.. ok thats bull, but i was just interested anyway.... scoob

Hmmm, seems I'm related to Jayhawk. I'm Chim-Chim Liverface. :-)
well, this isn't quite a delurk, since i've made several posts already.
but i figured it was worth introducing myself anyway.. i'm 21 years old, and was raised a dub.
had very loyal and active dub parents... there was just no question growing up that i was going to pioneer, reach out for privileges, etc.
LOL @ Dr. Watson. What's your preference? ;-)
Thanks to both of you. :-) ((((hugs))))
this is a question that many jws seem to have when they are contemplating leaving the wt society.
the society's answer is that there is nowhere else to go.
what is a doubting jw to do?.
(((((Shutterbug)))))
Wow, I'm very honored. And rather speechless. :-)
saw it tonight.
seemed a bit hammy at times, but overall i thought it was very good.
when tom guiry's foot came down on the child's face, i was expecting the camera to cut away, and i was shocked when it didn't; half the theater gasped.
Yes, he directed it, and also did the music! :-o
Penn and Robbins really pull through in this movie. The cast was just excellent. Fishburne, Laura Linney, Kevin Bacon all did an excellent job too. :D

I got an email from a Witness asking me this question. I didn't reply to it, but I already had my answer. I found myself. I don't need to go anywhere.
minimus started a great thread a few days ago asking what was "it" that finally made you leave the "truth"?.
the replies showed that, for the most part, it was the unloving, uncaring attitude displayed by most of the 'brothers & sisters' - elders particularly.
some posters even made the point that this lack of love drove them out despite them harbouring fears that they might actually be leaving the truth.
Doctrine didn't matter to me at all. Euph would talk to me about the things he was learning and discovering as false, and I would smile and nod. It had to get personal to make an impact with me.
most witnesses believe satan and his demons are looking at them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
were you one of those?
how did you handle stories of demons, witchcraft, etc.??
Yeeahhhh, I was scared of them right up until the day I mentally broke free of the org. As a kid I was more fascinated; I used to love to hear demon stories that other witnesses experienced. When I was a teen in high school I had some "worldly" friends who were into the Tarot and Ouiji boards, and one of them said that her father's spirit and the spirit of a murdered little girl hung around her all the time. Some of the girls said they knew individual spirits by their names...that they would sit on their beds and argue loudly in the middle of the night...stories like that. And that they would change their reflections in the mirror. After hearing all their stories I think I must have imagined some demon experiences with me (I was terrified at the time, but when I think back, it's nothing I couldn't have imagined). After that I wanted nothing to do with them.
I was always afraid of the dark, even as an adult. I couldn't sleep with my arms or legs hanging off the bed for fear there would be some kind of demon creature who would grab it. I couldn't be in a house with open windows if the lights were on inside. (Well...I still can't.) But even a few days before I was mentally free of the org, I would lay awake at night afraid to breathe because I was so scared of demons.
I am not sure whether I believe in spirits now, but if they exist, I definitely don't think they care to involve themselves in the lives of humans the way or to the extent that Witnesses suggest. :-p
BTW, I loved your story, I'mAllGrowedUp. ;-)
