Our first Christmas/Boxing Day/Grand Market!!! Thanks Guys

tonight we celebrate our first christmas as a family!!!

we have to do so early because tomorrow evening we are off to my jamaica for 2 and half weeks!

when we get there we will celebrate boxing day and then attend a fumky event called grad amarket which is a more local celebration!

This is my first Christmas since 1999, I got baptised the following year.

We were making up some "alternative" lyrics to Christmas Carols, with the JW's the brunt of our humour. Bit childish, I know!! Has anyone got any funny songs, carols or rhymes to share??

I am also VERY grateful that I saw the light and got the hell out of that place before Christmas. Otherwise, I would have to have waited another year to celebrate!!!

yeah, so this is it.

i am finally in college and i'm now in my 2nd year.

last year, i have so much friends and they were very good.

snare&racket, I totally agree with that thought of telling people too much. I have to hold back these days. I tend to stick to current affairs, the weather or any good restaurants I've been to. Keep it general and light.

was chatting to one of my brainy colleagues at work and telling him a bit about my jw exit etc...... he asked a few questions and then we got onto singing for some reason.

he said that having music, singing or even chanting at religous gatherings makes the brain for "receptive" to suggestions and indoctrination.

I always wondered why we had to sing 3 songs at the meeting. That's one part I do miss and am going to join a singing group in my area after the holidays!!!

Anyone got any thoughts??

Truth about the truth of my potential DF'ing

a lot of you know my story and my issue with whether to da, fade, fight , go to the jc meeting ect.

and a lot of you have tried to help me on advise of what to do and finally i decided to da myself and some of you thought this was a bad idea.. well the plot thinkens abit as i now have it of very good bethel soures authority, that back several months ago when i sent in to headquarters a 13 page letter asking for clarification on the subjects of the new covenant and mediator as i showed in the letter that via the bible their understanding was crap.. this letter and my actions of sending it sealed my fate.

that according to my sources, instructions were most likley sent to my body of elders or atleast one to get rid of me as a i was a troublemaker.

Hi Crazyguy, Merry Christmas.

Please forgive me BUT how can they admonish you for asking questions? What is that scripture about the Ethiopian who was asked "do you know what you are reading" and he said "no, how could I if no one has explained it to me?". Please excuse my memory here!!! I am getting more and more informed each day being in contact with you guys. The WTBTS is an absolute farce and I only just found out.

I hope you continue to heal and take time for yourself now.

Do you still attend meetings? Are you far from home?

It's hard when you go to Uni/college and don't know anyone. Try joining some clubs, or the student union and see how you go from there.

ok, so i have been on this journey for about a year or so.

i feel like i am no longer a part of this whacked out religion, however at the same time after spending so many years in it there have been a huge array of things that have happened to me that i feel i need to talk about.

not because they will help anyone who reads them, not because they are the slightest bit interesting, but because i can no longer keep them bottled up and expect to move on.. alot of things i have experienced hurt me deeply... although i was able to move forward with my life these things tend to hang around in my mind because i have never been able to tell anyone outside of my wife.

My husband said yesterday that the worse "sluts" he'd ever met were at the KH. He's been to Uni and was in the military, so he's not exactly naive!!! Don't say too much about the sisters, does it???

I am sorry for the time you've had. You are among friends here that won't judge you.

i have some guests coming over to spend xmas with me for a couple of days.

they are my friends family and i have a larger place than them and am playing host.. dilemma.

they are christians and i have some postcards in my bathroom that are slightly naughty.

Hi Guys. I am at home for the day with my son as my husband is working. He finishes at 5pm when the festivities will start. Some nice sparkling wine, nibbles and cosy time. Not sure whether to cook the full traditional Christmas dinner or have a bit of Greek lamb. Oh,, decisions!!!!

I hope you all have a lovely peaceful time whatever and whoever you are with.

it does not prove god exists, there is no substantial evidence god is real.

if one is a self labeled atheist, one has no desire to see gods fingerprints in organic chemistry.
