Laika, I noticed that in my search for a new church, all had information on child protection.the advice on some church webpages was if you suspected or needed to report child abuse was to call 999. The jw's are bringing reproach on their own god.stoopid.

Sunday School etc....
by quellycatface ini have never understood why the jw's did'nt have a sunday school or some kind of educational thing going for children.
it seems pretty selfish and antiquated.. i remember growing up, i was terrified of "satan" and "the demons".
not forgetting the "jehovah is watching you" crapola.. i think it's wrong letting young kids listen to fairly adult themed talks, items etc....it's got to affect them mentally.. any thoughts?.

A not so loving phone call....
by new hope and happiness ini recently got a letter in my pillar box asking me to attend a meeting at the k.h.
i ignored the " kind" request.. this was folloed up by a " loving" phone call with the question " do i believe in the organisation" my reply.
" anyway what pissed me off was during the " loving" phone call i realized there was another " brother" listning in.

This is beyond the pale. In the UK and I guess in the States, recordings of conversations by the superior authorities/police are not admissable as evidence in a court of law. So what are they trying to achieve? The elders now think they are above the law. I would take these guys to court in a blink, if I could. What a bucnch of sad, egotistical, self important gobshites.

Meeting Today
by lambsbottom inme and the spouse looked over the wt and decided it wouldn't be in our best spiritual interest to stay for the wt (we usually don't anymore).. so, took the kids to the public talk (was actually great, nice brother), took them outside for a snack and snuggled/played...and then left (an hour early).. .
felt great!
gotta do what you know is best for you spiritually!

Billy, I had to turn the video off, I was cringing SO much. Soooo true though!!
The last meeting I attended was in September 2013. The speaker was sooooo boring, stunted and uncomprehensible. I ended up daydreaming about my next holiday and dinner that night. The WTard was beyond me on that Sunday also. I could'nt wait to leave and get changed out of my stupid clothes and have a decent conversation with someone.
End of my JW life.

stayed in bed this morning!!!

another JW murder-suicide!
by nowwhat? inthis one in cleveland, ohio.
the wife went into the emergency room at the hospital and blew her brains out.
hours later the police found her husband shot in their car in the parking garage.

she asked me why i da'd from the wtbts, she'd been to the meeting this morning and she'd been at the bottle as well - not a good combo, for her, anyway.. i said i did'nt want to go into it too much, as i may stumble her.
she kept pushing so i said, last year i was'nt happy about the overlapping generation doctrine and did'nt agree that the org had taken bits out of the nwt.

how can i let him know that i think he probably will be better outside if he keeps trying without running the risk that he goes back and forward the email to a local elder?.

Just come off the phone to my Mum. She asked me why I DA'd from the WTBTS, she'd been to the meeting this morning and she'd been at the bottle as well - not a good combo, for her, anyway.
I said I did'nt want to go into it too much, as I may stumble her. She kept pushing so I said, last year I was'nt happy about the overlapping generation doctrine and did'nt agree that the Org had taken bits out of the NWT. Quoting 1 Tim 3:16 and that you can't mess with a sacred book. Imagine doing that to the Koran!! I also said that I did'nt think the GB had the right to carry on the way they were. So she said and here it is;
"Jehovah's Organisation isn't perfect". If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that in 14 years.
I said she'd been brainwashed at that point. I was really frustrated. She says nothing will shake her faith. Thank god the GB are'nt getting people to do suicide bombings, yet......
What is wrong with these people, why do they believe this crap, even when you present them with these facts??
