My First Year of Posting and How I Have Changed

i lurked for 2 years on this site before i joined in july 2013. what a roller coaster ride it has been.. first of all, i was a very active jw for those unfamilar with my story having been a longtime elder(21 years), regular pioneer (14 years), convention & assembly speaker, etc.

i am still an active witness because i am older now, with close to 40 years in the borg with some longtime friends.

I enjoyed reading your post.

The talks are so bland now, compared to, say 10 years ago. I noticed that when I was still in last year, after an absence of 4 years. They have no real message, no content or inspiration.

I much prefer the sermons at my local church. Today it was about Peter being released from prison by the angel. The key point was when he went to the house and no one believed the girl that said Peter was at the door because they lacked faith in God. Then it went on to talk about praying with faith, rather than by routine. I really enjoyed it. I have a lady vicar, who's really kind and caring but enjoys a joke too.

I never felt I was learning anything at the KH.

i've been given permission to post news of our friend.. kate hasn't been very well.

not well at all.

i think much of it has been a delayed reaction to her df'ing, the general fallout when leaving the wtbs and family issues.. i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and give you a chance to show how much we care about her.. thanks for listening..

Should I go on a allocated on arrival holiday??

i'm just a bit nervous in case i end up in a dump, i don't have the money to move to another place.

it will probably be self-catering greek style basic.

i love the island but am worried now.

I have found a deal to my favourite Greek island, Skiathos, if anyone of you know it. Where they filmed "Mamma Mia."

Did You Ever Stumble Anyone?

I think that's such a silly thing to go on about, this "stumbling" stuff.

Alot of my pals at school started smoking and doing soft drugs when they were about 15 or so. Never appealed to me. My pops always said "if your mate put their head in the gas oven, would you do the same?"

All people have their own free will, conscience and internal compass of ethics. We are anot responsible for the behaviour of others.

Too much guilt is laid upon the R & F, making them easier to control, I guess.

this photograph from a news site is a succinct summary of a life in wt's hands....... look at their faces, it says it all.. also, note the watchtower pr machine in action, explaining that it brings 4 million dollars to the location.

Wimbledon!

starts today!

now that england have slightly spoiled my world cup with their early failure, i am focusing a little more on the tennis.

i happen to live 15 minute walk from the wimbledon tennis courts so am completely caught up in the atmosphere, i will be joining the queue with a friend thursday night, camping out for the ticket queue early friday morning.
