Its sad these people have spent all they lives believing in a lie. Now they are old and need help. The only help they recieve is welfare, healthcare from the Govt and living in cheap rental accomodation. The witnesses do not help , but will come along for a study to get the hours up. To top it all off armagedonn hasn't come, the faith that has kept them going all these years has slowly being going, I see it in their eyes. Old, sick and no one cares. Their life has been a waste.

1932 / 1935 and The Great Multitude,Dying Off Too?
by Blueblades inanother watch tower teaching that could shorty cause the society a serious problem is the great multitude of 1932 / 1935.if the great tribulation fails to occur reasonably soon, this too could bring about a major change, i.e generation teaching, while the two teachings may appear to be linked, the dates are almost twenty years apart in application,i.e.
1914 --1932 / 35.. the great multitude of 1932 / 35 who stood up to be identified are well into their late 70's ,early 80's at this time,2003.just as the long standing "this generation" has been reinterpreted, perhaps a new doctrinal reinterpretation of the great multitude will be made, adversely affecting untold numbers of potential ones who will come out of "the great tribulation"as "the great mutitude "of survivors.. i know that the society is trying to put off these teachings,"this generation,"the great tribulation" "the great multitude" and "armageddon" into the indefinite future, however life goes on,people grow old and die.so, how long can they keep this up.. my guess is that the winds of internal turmoil will get stronger, the near future will be telling as members of the great multitude die off.as they see another hoped for fulfillment die off along with them.
blueblades, who has felt the effects of these things too.what are your thoughts?.

I don't know if it works, but I had one thinking about it. They had enquired about my father (who died over a year ago) I said that he had passed away. Person made some bland witness remark to which I replied. He seemed a bit diappointed that amargeden hadn't come in his lifetime. The look of made me realise he must have felt the same way, as he shuffled off on his walking sticks.

Ever been conned by smallprint? Dixons/Currys Coverplan
by Brummie ini brought a top of the range lexmark 73 printer/scanner/copier about a year and half ago and got it covered by coverplan mastercare.
it cost me approx 230. .
the coverplan insurance told me that if it broke down i would get full cover for parts and labour or a brad new top of the range printer.. it broke down and without even looking at it coverplan told me to "throw it away" and they will send me vouchers to replace the value.

I never had a cover plan, but I did purchase a camera from Dixons whick broke a year later. I took it back to one of the main stores in London to get it repaired to be told it was not repairable because no parts are available. In my LOUD NEW ZEALAND accent I acused them of ripping of tourists but they where out of luck because I was a resident and perhaps I should let all the tourists in the shop know that anything purchased here was unrepairable after a year. (people had started leaving the shop at this stage) The manager was called and I repeated my claim of them selling items to tourists because they had no come back, and surprising enough he was able to replace my faulty camera . Scrum I also had trouble with whiteware chain (Comet?)with a washing machine under guarantee, even with my invoice for the washing machine without a recipt they wouldn't repair it. Threatened to walk outside with a billboard and hand out flyers telling my version and not to shop here. After repeated phonecalls to the manager, in which my english friends would ring up and get through to the manager, reception recognised my accent and wouldn't put me through they finally sent a repairman to fixed the damm thing.

I have been shunned!
by shera innot that i really care...but my daughters family has a few of them that are jw's.for many yrs they talked to me very limited,i guess they have found out that i no longer believe the org has truth to it.so now the shunning has started...lol when we met in the coffee shop my daughters father did this little dance shuffle, backwards to get out of my way...even a few weeks back when he picking something up from here for my daughter they had to get him to carry it(this happened before i knew i was a shunnee) he peeked around the corner of my door and took a weak step in..he leaned a bit couldnt reach what he was trying to pick up,then he took another step..leaned...still couldnt get it...i was watching him like..good gawd!!
does he think a demon is going to get him?how sad..i am amazed at what this cult has done to persons minds.....back to the story... =0).
my hubbies brother is married to my daughter's aunt and she is a jw.....and we went camping with my hubbies family and they were to meet my daughter's father and other jw...well when they seen me pull up in the van,i thought they were going to have a stroke.my daughters stepmom was about to pop her last nerve.they sat behind the tent and chatted forawhile and my brother in law came over and said they are leaving because of me.so they took down alll their camping gear and moved far enough away from the evil..bad bad heather.(lol).

My old witnesses have the good sense to say well away from me. But in the local hardware store, ( I do woodwood for a hobbie) I ran into one of the elders. It was a wonderful one way conversation. Ask him how he was, he looked straight ahead. Mentioned I was sorry to hear about his son (killed himself). He looked staright ahead, as we were at the counter and I was speaking in a loud voice people were staring. Asked him if there was a problem that he wasn't speaking to me and which point he left the store without purchasing anything and about five people all watching him leave, looking puzzled.

Pulled out of Sex Ed classes
by Nosferatu infor those of you who had a jw childhood, were you pulled out of sex education classes?
did it bother your conscience if school surprised you with one?
after being deprived from sex knowledge and since the society doesn't make diagrams, how did you learn about it?

My Mother to this day (I'm 40) still has not explained sex or puberty. My sister who is eight years older than me gave me a book when I was about 13 which explained everything in graphic detail. Thank you sis. Off course I wasn't allowed to attend the sex ed classes at school. If it hadn't been for sis I would have been a single mum at 15

Must have been in the early 90's Parents where visiting me in London and really wanted to go. So I helped then get there, Mum and dad went in the old age stand, i got sat in another. After they slagged off single parents, and aids vitims I did a runner to the pub and read the sunday papers until the session ended. I also went to the toilet (mens) and when stopped by loving dickhead i pointed out that the loving thing to done would be to half the number of mens toilets to shorten the queue. He stood there opened mouthed. While i continued on my way.

Thanks for the great response. In answer to Zeena it’s been 30 years for me. I’m 40 now. Buster the witness that approached me for help, I have to say I wasn’t very helpful the witness’s I had not thought about for years and when she started talking to me all I could offer was to get out, refuse to speak to the elders and never go back. This was hard for her as her family shunned her. She had recently got divorced from a witness when I met her that day; she proceeded to sell up and with half the proceeds from the house left for another country. After a few months of feeling guilty about not been helpful I tried to find out where she was and how she was doing. I got my mother (out but not shunned) to find out and she was doing well got a job, renting a house and had a boyfriend (not a J dub) but unfortunately has still turned away from Jehovah. She brought up a lot of old memories, and not pleasant ones. I contacted my sister (older) who had been a special pioneer for most of her twenties, fell in love with a worldly man and lost all friends. After nearly twenty years of counselling see still has problems, but can talk about things for a short time. That was when I checked the Internet to see if it had any information, and found this site about a year ago. It made me say, and it made me laugh.eps one on clothing I hate wearing anything that looks like witness clothes and am rarely out of jeans

I have been reading the threads for about a year now and thought its time to post my story.
I can’t remember much up until I was ten except the usual no birthdays, no worldly friends or bad associates. Then it was a series of arguments of why I didn’t what to go to church. (I always refused to call it the truth) When physical violence was threatened I threatened to call Child Welfare and bring JW in to disrepute. I compared the younger members on the stage giving talks to Hitler’s youth movement. So as you can guess I had no friends in the congration. I was never a spritall person just a practical one like if the J Dubs where so loving and caring why did I never see them on TV in war zones or famines giving aid like the red cross. When I started saying this out loud in the congregation the elders requested to see me. Unfortunately they had just dealt with a major (I don’t think) problem of someone had had been engaged for a year having her breasts touched by her fiancé. So my reply was why what I want to see a bunch of dirty old men that get there thrills form listing to these details. Last I heard from them. About 16 or 17 finding that Jehovah doesn’t strike you down for sinning, I did just about everything sex, drugs rock & roll all of which where very enjoyable. My parents still associated with me, as all the other kids (3) where older and had already left the church. Mum and dad had got into the cult just after WW2 so there own familles were not J Dubs. This was about 30 years ago. But recent events and spurred me to re-examine my past. My father past away and I was approached by someone in the church to help them leave. They had made three attempts, had a nervous breakdown. It made me realise what affect the church had on my life. My life is great now Happily married for 10 years, great job, half way through a degree. And for all of you when you hear how things go bad for J Dubs where they leave the loving organisation, after a couple of years leaving I won a first prize in a major raffle ha ha ha (for New Zealand) and travelled the world for two years having a ball.
