  i recently read an article about jw's that, if had the choice, would probably leave because of the deceptions, lies, etc., but don't because of family, friends, prestige, whatever, and instead lead a make-believe life going through the motions of being a loyal and believing follower of the watchtower organization.

  most of those purported to be part of this non-believing/participating, but attending, jw population, are folks that have been associated with the jw's for a number of years, but, as many have, decided that the lies and constant changes (new light) just don't make sense anymore.

  i would suspect that identifying those who just "go through the motions" of being a good jw would be difficult.

  i hope that those that are jw lawyers get tired of the governing body and quit bethel because of the bull shit theyv'e had to clean up after the gb.

  it may be happening right now.

  think about it the gb have issued the call for more lawyers to the congregations,, perhaps there is some disloyalty growing towards the gb being manifested in the legal department and the gb needs help desparately.

  man that sucks bad...i believe he was one of the great writers of all time..and he partied like hell too!.

  denver, colorado (ap) -- hunter s. thompson, the acerbic counterculture writer who popularized a new form of fictional journalism in books like "fear and loathing in las vegas," fatally shot himself sunday night at his aspen-area home, his son said.

  he was 67.. "hunter prized his privacy and we ask that his friends and admirers respect that privacy as well as that of his family," juan thompson said in a statement released to the aspen daily news.. pitkin county sheriff bob braudis, a personal friend of thompson, confirmed the death to the news.

  14 year old boy and 16 year old gal, both DFed for copulating like rats. Caught by the gal's father, an elder, and while judicials were being held. the 2 ran away and continued to copulate. End of matter, both Dfed, gal had a baby, and the boy went to glue sniffing. Father had to step down and the boy's parents moved far away from the congo. The boy ended up in a detention center for wayward kids and finally settled down into a job chasing down delinquent credit card holders.

  The Literature Counter

  at your congregation did it ever seem that the literature counter had nothing in stock except for a lot of the basics (armageddon revelation book, evolution book, brochures, cheap nwts, and what's being studied).

  what made me think of this was someone saying posting about how the elders wait until the last minute to hand out the kms.

  do you think they do the same kind of thing with the literature?.

  I had the "privilege" of Lit. Servant for a few years in different congos and the C.O. once dressed me down for too much stock on hand, too many esoteric titles, and special orders that weren't picked up - hell the "friends" were Dfed, be hard for them to pick up their orders. Eh?

  At 16 I read 'Hell's Angels' then when I left the Borg - 'Fear and Loath in Vegas' 3 or 4 times, then 'Campaign Trail', later the 'Great Shark Hunt' and then saw Hunter do a lecture at Harvard - a disaster - bottle of Jack and fielded questions - nothing more. Hunter was a deranged warrior, who taught me to wear cleats when the blood gets deep. R.I.P. Hunter - the lizards will remain.
