I Got The Phone Call Last Night - My Dad Died
by BrendaCloutier inmy mom called last night to tell me he passed on sunday.
he died peacefully and fairly painlessly.
my mom said she was talking with him, went to answer the phone, and 5 minutes later he was gone.

After I sent to Brooklyn a list of false prophecies, bad translations, and outright lies, and then visited Crooklyn (imagine - I wanted to speak to the G.B.) the elders formed a J.C. They had copies of the many letters and articles I wrote to Brooklyn, and it was going to be my night (after the Service Meeting). They had a few other JCs going that night due to a wedding that became a drunken shindig the previous weekend. They told me to wait in the library as they dealt with others in the second Ministry School. I waited 15 minutes, checked where the Judicial records were stored (had been a servant, a pioneer, and still had a key). The Judicial records box was unlocked, so I called 2 friends who had been DF'ed for apostacy that month and asked if they wanted me to take their folders, as well as mine and my wife's. They said yeah, so I gathered the 4 sets of publisher cards, and the 4 sets of Judicial records, and casually left the hall. 30 minutes later I got a call from some very pissed off elders accusing me of removing "Theocratic property". Never returned anything. They called over and over - no answer. They visited a few times - no answer. One day I saw an elder in the supermarket and he said I needed a "good beating to bring me back to Jehovah's Organization." I still have my last publisher record card and pioneer card. Screw them! Bozos and mean men!

With the mantra, "I pummel my body and lead it as a slave..." what "balanced" mental attitude could exist? Man, we had some real nuts - BTW, they were the elders. With "blood guilt", the Big A rotting off the flesh, JCs, shunning, meetings up the ying yang, elders snooping, and the constant interrogation, "SO, how are you doing brother Lawrence?" "SO, how are you doing sister 4 hours a month?" "SO, we've missed you at the meetings Brother overworked, underloved, and just trying to survive." "SO, do you think we'll see you out in service this weekend sister Prozac?" "SO, how do you feel about the Faithful & Discreet Slave being the mouthpiece of Jehovah?"

it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon either.
i raised this question before i stopped attending the meetings in the late 90's and the answer i was given was, "it has slowed down a lot and will eventually stop when the time is right".

in sept. km under announcements, loving provision from jehovah, elders are being reminded to make the yearly visit to all those that have been df or da.. make sure you have some good coffee or a six pack for them.. treat them kindly and with respect, the gb is very much interested in all those that they kicked out.

Who Pioneered?
by sass_my_frass inmy two sisters did the right thing, pioneering straight out of school, janitoring to pay for the petrol (one didn't even bother with her final year of school).
it was this kind of fine example that got me guilt-tripped into auxiliary pioneering just after getting baptised at age 20. i only lasted six months; i took a holiday in queensland and returned not knowing much more about life but at least that it's bigger than my little congregation.
i despised the field service, i dreaded the daily schedule and every morning i was on my way out there was this awful countdown from the alarm going off to the first door opening, knowing that it's just a big setup to another depressing humiliation.

I did from 1973 - 1977, then I went through the Society's past books and history and no longer could spread the old and new light. I actually felt like I was doing the Creator's will until the real lights came on.

Wanted - two men of integrity at Bethel

all it will take is two men on the governing body who somehow convince the rest to implement these three changes , for starters i see this:.
