  Many of us here have hoped for and imagined a time when the WT leadership would attempt to distance themselves from this death dealing doctrine. They tried to introduce some flexibility with it in the year 2000 when accepting blood fractions became a matter of personal decision and conscience.

  Over the years we have speculated that a time would come when the GB would turn the entire subject over to being a personal matter. This would let individuals decide for themselves in whatever way their conscience moved them. It would put an end to the anguish families have to endure when a blood emergency occurs and also end the very negative publicity in the media that turns potential converts away.

  My observations over recent years and comments printed in study articles clearly show that this scenario is not likely to happen at any time soon. On Friday afternoon of the 2016 convention the character Sergei is shown taking a stand and refusing blood for his operation.

  It would seem that the leniency on blood has gone as far as it will go. Whole blood or its primary four components

  (plasma, red cells, white cells, and platelets) are not becoming available in the foreseeable future.

  Very sad indeed!!!

  by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

  The WTS always seems to “dodge the bullet” in their pedophile cases either through continuous court appeals or by offering a direct cash settlement to the victims with a compulsory “gag order” on all the details. Nothing big really seems to stay in the headlines for long and it quickly disappears making very little impact on both JW’s and non-JW’s in the community.

  As smiddy said, “They have thumbed their nose at the law (on numerous occasions) before and got away with it.”

  I often wonder what it will take to fully expose this devious religion once and for all. What will be that watershed moment that will be remembered as the one event that finally opened the floodgates and opened people’s eyes to it all?

  two days ago a new book was released for download, called "ever-changing teachings of jehovah's witnesses".

  it was originally written by a polish jw scholar (who never was a jw himself) włodzimierz bednarski, with a help from szymon matusiak, who was a jw and an elder, and is a result of years of labourious work to compile quotes regarding every single doctrine the book describes.

  it covers the most important changes in years 1879—2015.

  ...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.

  bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.

  he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

  This video is intentionally designed to invoke a positive response and create a strong personal emotional connection. Personally I think it’s brilliant, very alluring and selling expectation. Remember that many JW’s are forever hopeful……What if it does all happen in my lifetime? Do I want to give up now and miss out on paradise?

  The WTS is “all in” with this digital age and are skilfully using the latest methods available to them. Just saying the end is coming soon……or just around the corner is so passé yes very old, WELL OVER 100 years old!!

  Video with faith strengthening music is the new hook and dangling carrot. The loyal ones will eat this up and then be disappointed like the generations that went before them.

  

  The video has got to be better than this. Even the lion looks sad!!!!

  RC Was Worse Than I thought...

  i was visiting with my family and it seems the rc was worse than i thought.

  now they all seem to think that "we are so close to the end" and that the "brothers are really preparing us for the gt".

  some even saying that soon our message will change to a judgement message for mankind and talking about how we need to improve "everything we do".

  “bats in the belfry” mentioned: “The countless resolutions to whoever?”

  Remember when conventions for years had several stirring and heart moving resolutions presented? I mention two below to refresh your memory.

  April 1, 2002 WT p. 30 Stay Awake, Move Ahead Courageously!

  “The hour is late for distressed mankind. Our present commission must be fulfilled before the final end comes. Therefore, we, as Jehovah’s Witnesses, resolve that:…… (A six-point resolution was presented) “All in attendance at this convention who favor the adoption of this resolution, please say AYE! When the concluding question of the resolution was put to the……a thunderous “Aye” was shouted in the many languages represented among the delegates.”

  January 15, 2004 p. 25 Give God Glory Not Man

  “The speaker presented a ten-point resolution for all in attendance to adopt. It centered on various ways that glory can be given to Jehovah, the Creator. A unanimous “Aye” traveled through all the conventions from one end of the earth to the other.”

  Many of us remember all those bold and pompous resolutions that put the “wicked world” on notice and were adopted by the thousands gathered. The audience was in a trance like state as they feverishly applauded. On the drive home conversations indicated that the brothers/sisters were very much excited and enthusiastic about it…What could this all mean? And…We must be so close to the end now! etc.

  But the next day was Monday and going to the same crappy unfulfilling low paying job. Or we were knocking on the same empty houses if pioneering. Midweek go to the same mind-numbing meeting. At the end of the month you had more bills than money. The assembly quickly slipped into the distant past and became irrelevant.

  The WTS is so enamoured with this digital age and are cleverly using the latest methods available to them. Just saying the end is coming sooooon……or it’s just around the corner is so old, WELL OVER 100 years old!!

  45 Minute Bethel Video about Changes (downsizing) at Watchtower

  i don't see this posted elsewhere, and i don't have the links besides this facebook one.. but here is a 45-minute long bethel talk about the changes at bethel including addressing the hard feelings of people who were given the axe.

  basically, everything must change.

  we gave remaining bethelites saturday off to do our bidding in "the field" and we give bethelites over 70 an extra day a week off (if you can find any such bethelites).

  I have met many good and sincere JW’s that gave their all to the fulltime service. I met an equal amount of smug, sanctimonious, and pompous morons as well. We all remember the interviews ad nauseam at conventions, parading in front of us those in various forms of fulltime work and their special privileges in the congregation. Many from Bethel would go on and on about how Jehovah was the best employer ever. How Jah would never let them down and toss them aside like so many “worldly bosses” etc. Working for God was touted as being a special honor and everyone in the audience was asked to prayerfully consider making Bethel service a personal lifetime goal. “Remember, Brothers…..you will have…..No Regrets.” (Cue the Thunderous applause!!)

  It may sound mean but I really feel zero sympathy for these Bethelites and their delusions of grandeur.

  They applied voluntarily and happily (no gun to their head). Many even applied numerous times before they got accepted.

  So be it then, many fulltime servants who never remotely anticipated the year 2016 arriving are now getting jettisoned out on their butts. Maybe God wasn’t such a great employer after all. This is what happens when you give up all authority over your life to a manmade religion. How can you unconditionally hand yourself over, including all intellectual thoughts and reasoning skills, to an imperfect institution and then have no recourse?

  As they walk out the front door for the last time they can reminisce on these happy thoughts:

  Indeed, in every country, Jehovah’s people are the best and the happiest!

  As far as I’m concerned they are getting exactly what they deserve. Now go get a job and start paying for your own rent & provide for your own needs like the rest of the world. After all they did have..... ”The Best Life Ever.”

  P.S. – This talk seems to indicate that, “evidently” the bloodletting is not over yet. There may always be more necessary changes in Jah’s organization in the future.
