  A QUESTION FOR JW'S who say, "The brothers were overly zealous" about 1975

  "what was the actual significance of that year, then?".

  if jw's were overly zealous, what was the exact amount of zeal encouraged by the wts for a non-event which took up.

  i've posted on and off here over the past year, but not much recently.

  anyone who read my previous posts will know that i started learning all sorts of surprising things about jehovah's witnesses about a year or so ago, well, surprising to me anyway.

  i feel very sad now as it is getting harder and harder to go to meetings.

  Sorry...but glad to hear ur waking up...I started to wake up in 2008ish. It took a bit for me to realize that I was indoctrinated from almost birth into this religion that is wrong on almost every teaching. I lived my life based on those teachings that were-are wrong. I would of changed my outlook and life decisions had I known they were wrong!

  Most of them would change my status now...without the lost decades of time. At almost 60 I can't get them back however moving forward I am able to make better decisions. My wife is awake and was before me so it is easier for me.

  One of the things I keep saying was "I know they had those things wrong...but they are still gods chosen religion" boy was I wrong, and glad I realized it!

  In your opinion: What is the average IQ of the Governing Body?

  based on the comments of the governing body, at various conventions, annual meetings , info-mmercials, etcetara, etcetara, etcetera, [ i loved yule brenner in the king and i],.

  They range from 85-115 on average. I would be surprised if anyone on them were above 115. This does not make them stupid...or evil they are smart enough to chose how they want to be. They are in a position to see it all... so they are more accountable for there their choice.

  There average IQ does allow them to realize the need to hire someone else to tell them what to do :)

  it appears that those in the position to change the rules or laws governing abuse are either unable or indifferent to making a real change in regard to the JW religion practices. One abuse should be enough to make change in how all groups need to conduct themselves. Religiions have a free run to do as they want...however some day this will change!

  Turning My House in to A Ex-JW Gathering Church, Will it bug my JW Neighbors?

  i am thinking of turning my house in to a ex-jw meeting place, getting bar, pool tables, ping-pong, foseball, pinball and kegs of beer on tap.

  big screen singles pad for the local ex-jws to visit and hang out.

  will this bug all the jws who live near by me, do they get weird around known apostates?.

  Witnesses are like a "typical male"... Always trying to "fix" things or "solve" everything.

  we all know the cliche that "men never really listen or sympathise, they just try to solve or fix things"?.

  often people just need to vent or discuss issues..."get them off their chest".

  i have noticed that jws are just like a thoughtless cliched man..... when speaking with people in the community, they don't really listen, they just look for a way to solve the issue!.

  it was just ok for me...it could of been great...but the writer chose to attack the male gender also...the husband. So was the husband the problem or?

  I put the kingdom first;

  The boy was a pioneer

  But after the wedding day

  I was only worth his sneer. 

  I put the kingdom first

  I kept up wifely submission

  While he slapped me around.

  My husband cheated and then left

  Me without even two bob.

  • If she truly put the kingdom first, and not married! No man problems... No children to shun....see...now there would be a valid complaint.

  Not diminishing the abuse that women suffer but put the blame where it belongs...being raised or controlled by cult leaders.

  things ex-jw's need to know in order to heal and move on.. ***.

  1.you cannot change what you refuse to confront.. look at how you are feeling most of the time.

  that sense of going nowhere and feeling down is not because you aren't spritual enough.

  • Thanks Terry!...there are many good points here...this one #20 stood out for me.

  20.You will never become who you want to be if you keep blaming everyone else for who you are now.

  I have to figure out how to apply this since I work for and are surrounded by JWs at work.

  I feel like Dexter...always having to pretend I'm "normal"... "like them"....it's hard pretending to be of the Jw mindset.
