on this board, i think if i wanted to tease, let's say, simon, i could suggest that he thinks he's an elder and that's why he's such a control-freak.
Ask a jw elder or a bro eraching out How are you doing spiritaualy then go into what he should work on and give him counsel,
IF you want to upset a jew tell him you are amissionary. If you want to upset a Moslem tel him thatyou area jew. Want to irritate a Mormon, criticize Joe Smith and tell them the book of Mormon is abunch of bolony and the their prophets today are wacos but use tact.Want to get a cuban going tell him you admire Fidel . As you say min you got to know people.

The elders had provisons for them to get rides and things like that but the nice treatment was in connection with meeting attendace and field service and assemblies I guess people are too busy with their personal lives to remmeber the elderly

you know, the type that you used to run away from when they would approach you to say hello in the kingdom hall.

Min the bros in my cong were mostly weird but in a funny way. I knew a bro a while bak that was burnt from using so much drugs before becoming a jw. He would come up to evryone sayinh, How are you today ina pronounced sort of way then he would greet the plants. HELLO plants. He is probably a D O by now
things were different when you were active in the org.
meetings, talks, service, assemblies, elders meetings, congrgational duties, busy with the hope of a reward of living forever and serving god with eternity in view.
all of your efforts and goals related to being a jw, your thinking, your views, your life, your future all revolved aroung the org.. with all that aside, what are you doing now?

I look at these sisters n the org with pity those that wwill remain old maids or ones that are old maids with no possibility of sex or a companion in "this system" or even in the next because of Jesus words in the Bible about the ressurected. You cant win. What a hassel. Too bad for the lonely that put on a facade of happiness that comes from listening to singleness assebly talks, and the joys of attending meetings and going out in service, One of the fundamenral tthings about being happy is a relationship and sometimes marriage is not possible so then why not live together?

Refusing medical treatment s camouflaged with ALTERNATIVE medical treatment. The problem with that argument is that one cannot treat a ruptured apendix with cheese and crakers per orum if the patient refuses surgery which is the only treatment that willsave his live.

It seems as the practical thing to do. It seems insane for someone to have to stay alone indefinitely, having the option available to be with someone in a relationship. But I think of the guilt feelings having a jw background and also looking at what the Bible says about that.How could one rationalize it being taught that it is wrong? In NYit is a crime to have sex with someone that one is not married to. The law is not enforced but it is there in the Penal Law
