Feb 15, 2007 WT Article: Women: Obey Your Hubbies!!
by Mary inpage 18 is the pathetic craptower article, telling women (who have apparently gotten above themselves) that they must be "obedient" to their husbands.
the entire article is nauseating, and obviously written by bitter old men who have major issues with the opposite sex.
i'm not going to write the whole thing, but here's a few 'highlights':.

Being materialistic, as a disfellowshipping reason.
by free2beme inmy sister and i, are my mothers only two children.
we were both witnesses at one point, i left ten year ago and my sister left in 2005. my mother remains as the only witness left in my immediate family.
while my sister and i make good money, with our careers and duel income in marriage, we don't talk about it much.

I don't think you can be df'd for materialism, unless you use illegal means to get your possessions. It may be that she flaunts her material things because that's the only way to get a leg up on the other sisters. She's a woman, third marriage, is her husband a "non-believer?" Does she pioneer? It doesn't sound like she has any personal power or status in the congregation. She may use wealth as a way to be noticed. Of course that doesn't excuse her behavior. She sounds like a real peach. *cough*cough* no offense.

Nosferatu's School of Dating - Lesson 1.4 - Happiness
by Nosferatu inlesson 1.3 is here:.

i've seen countless men who seem to posess the mindset of "i need a woman to be happy".

Actually J-ex-W, of the three examples I mentioned, two of them were college age, one of whom was actually in college - a freshman, the other was about 20. The last on I specifically mentioned was in his thirties. One was an Ex-JW, one a JW, and the other was non-religious. I agree that transitional times (college,) are especially vulnerable, but I don't think that either college "men," or men in transitional phases have a lock on creating fantasies around disinterested women.

Gumby, gumby. This is Nos' school of DATING! Not get-married-to-your-soulmate-then-watch-her-die-without-pilling-yourself school. I think "be happy with yourself," and "not fearing abandonment by a woman" is GREAT dating advice.
I've known more than a few boys and men who get suicidal when their kinda almost girlfriend decides to date other guys living in the fraternity next door. One slashed his wrists, another took pills, another one didn't eat for a week solid, there are more. These guys were obviously equating that woman with their entire life and happiness. When she moved on, they had nothing. That's insane. Women do it too. I remember spending what felt like WEEKS lying in the bathroom crying my brains out because some boy dumped me. I was insecure and not too happy with the kind of person I was then.
Sure it's natural to be sad, but letting your whole life grind to a halt over a DATE? Pretty good indicator that something is amiss in one's own life if so.

I believe in miracles...
by Confession indid you as a jw?
on this subject i have considered the perspective of many jws (and plenty of others) pretty ridiculous--both now and when i was a zealous jw.
consider this fictitious (but fairly realistic) interview.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

Confession, in the future I'd like it if you'd ask permission before quoting my mother on this discussion board. Thank you.

I ran them off !
by oldflame inthe witnesses came to my complex today, this time it was two very good looking women.
i walked up to them and calmly said that this is the second warning that they were trespassing on my property and that no jehovah's witnesses are aloud on this property knocking on doors.
i have a tenant who is a jw and this is fine with me and they are aloud to come and visit her but i do not allow them to bother my tenants as they all prefer they stay away anyways.

It's okay Vinny, maybe when you've been around longer than 21 posts, you'll be in a better position to comment on the character of long-term posters. Nothing OldFlame did was abusive, nor even offensive enough to warrant all of those names you called him, yet that's how you'd like to spin it. That's fine.
Sounds like you might want to make an examination of the hand that is pointing the "abusive" finger, cause I'm pretty sure there are at least 3 other fingers pointing the other direction.
