  this 10 minute video follows a man and his problems as he attempts to deal with women in authority, much as a woman may experience in our own society.. maybe not a real stretch for the imagination.

  Just Read 1.5 Hours worth of Conti Case Files

  read 1.5 hours worth on conti case files (examination & cross-examination).

  here is my take (and i consider myself a pretty logical person able to set aside emotion...i've never been abuse but know people who have been).. the jury was completely right in awarding the judgement to conti.

  as far as the award amount, i don't care to comment on.

  Probably 25 years ago now, my father was an elder when in the congregation, a late teen Witness molested a young one of about 5. Her and her family attended the congregation.

  The victim's family was pushed to keep it quiet and let God's organization handle it. My father ended up making an anonymous call to the police about the details. The police came around to investigate and the molestor killed himself before any arrests were made.

  Not a pretty situation at all.

  just thought of another question that could start someone waking up.

  you could say something to the effect of, "i was thinking how if we were to come across a person in the ministry who asks us how luke 21:8 does not apply to jws in light of the comments such as the ones (quoted below) how could we respond?".

  or you could say that someone at work or school presented you with the awake quote and said luke 21:8 proves jws false, then you could say you need help coming up with a response to him.. luke 21:8 .

  I want to clarify that I firmly believe the GB are false prophets. Just that this particular use of Luke 21:8 will be easily dismissed by a JW. They will claim the GB never says they are Christ.

  You can't break up scripture like that to fit your agenda. It is clearly about false Messiahs claiming to be Jesus. The scripture uses AND not OR.

  OP, you are ignoring a critical part of the text at Luke 21:8. Jesus is talking about people proclaiming to be Christ.... "I am he", and not to follow those people.

  what is going on with greg, he's a great scholar and a decent bloke, i hope he is doing well heatlh wise and god is blessing him.

  i was having a short conversation with my neighbour.

  they are very nice people and they are moslim.

  one thing (among many) that always bothered me about jw teachings is what happens to the soul when we die.

  sure god could be capable of creating a body and implanting it with all of our life experiences an memories.

  but how would not be a just a clone instead of being actually us?

  One thing (among many) that always bothered me about JW teachings is what happens to the soul when we die. Sure God could be capable of creating a body and implanting it with all of our life experiences an memories. But how would not be a just a clone instead of being actually us? The only way to get around that is some essence or soul that exists even beyond physical death that makes us who we are, not just a collection of facts about what we observed and thought in our life times.

  If technology developed to the point that all of our memories could be copied into another body, that would just be a copy or a clone. It wouldn't be us. So logically it seems there is something more there, a soul. Otherwise, no one would ever truly be resurrected. God would be creating a copy of us.
