  the wts always taught that there is absolutely no life anywhere in the universe except here on earth..

  because the bible doesn't talk about it, therfore it don't exist.. seems to me that is rather poor logic.

  i was talking to a friend of mine the other day, who is spiritually minded.

  Here is the Society's logic:since the Devil rebelled here,since Jesus died here ,the issues have not been settled yet.So God has not created life anywhere else until the issues raised by Satan are settled here where his Son died .

  Logically,as the Society goes on to teach, since Satan zeroed His attention to the Garden of Eden it must of been the only place in the universe that had intelligent life on it, ( you know Adam & Eve ) why else would Satan pick a fight here and not somewhere else? Why else would God have his Son Murdered (SACRIFICED) here and not somewhere else?

  Other than this belief system,what's a SCIENTIST to think about all this? Blueblades

  I just don't understand why this has to go on and on throughout human history.I use to think it was all about the universal sovereignity issue,not anymore.God has not only decreed death to the human family,but,also all this inhumane horror to go along with it.???????????????????Blueblades

  It is NOT The Watchtower Society anymore?!?

  i don't know if this has been posted recently but... .

  i was just talking to a friend (a ms jw) that told me that he was told by the elders on a talk he was about to give that according to their last elders school there are instructions not to use the terms "the watchtower society" or "the society" or "the organization" anymore... but rather to now always use "the faithful and discreet slave" or "the slave"... .

  I remember when they had us use the little card that identified us as being associated with the local congregation in preaching the good news.We were not to say to the householder that we part of the WB&TS..

  The reason was that when you got into any trouble on someones property, it was between you and them not the WB&TS. There were other reasons too,but,you know them already. Blueblades

  recently i have been hearing the phrase,"tough love", anyone know where this phrase originated from?

  what is tough love all about?

  when would you use it,and, on whom?have you ever used it on someone,if you did what resulted from it?

  Recently I have been hearing the phrase,"TOUGH LOVE", anyone know where this phrase originated from? What is TOUGH LOVE all about? When would you use it,and, on whom?Have you ever used it on someone,if you did what resulted from it? I really would appreciate some input on this as it was used on me recently.I really don't understand how LOVE can be expressed as being TOUGH. Thanks,Blueblades

  What Happened to Magazine Day?

  generally,saturday is designated as magazine day.street magazine work may also be engaged in.the more people that read our magazines the better our preaching of the kingdom good news will be.. so what happened to magazine day?i remember when we used to " blitz "a four block area in a short period of time on saturday mornings.not anymore,we can't let them apostates get anymore of our magazines!

  stop the subscriptions !

  Sometime ago the C.O. had us go out into service on sat. am with just the MAGS.nothing else but a whole stack of mags.and the pocket Bible in our pocket.

  he asks ,"Who thinks thay can place one mag.this morning? Hands go up,how about two,hands go up,how about four,hands go up,how about ten,hands go up.There was about 40 of us on his visit that sat.a.m.He then says,"about 40 x 10 = 400 mags.this morning,lets check back here @100pm to tally up what we did ok.

  Clever,because he now got us to return at 1pm to continue with MAGAZINE DAY! I don't know how many did acually show up for 1pm,I didn't.and I don't know what the tally was for that morning only that later in his talk he said the cong. had a good mag.day.The missus and I just handed out the MAGS.to anyone walking by till we ran out.We both had 5 sets,so we placed 20 mags in about ten minutes and went for coffee,then home.   my dad died

  dear everyone, my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly at the weekend.he did'nt turn up for a family dinner and my husband and i went to see if he was ok.he was dead.collapsed in his home.i can't stop shaking and i feel really sick.i've lost my mum and now my dad too.i wish i could sleep for months and wake when the pain has finished with me.

  it hurts so much .sorry to bring everyone down-but i'm stressed at having to sort out his arrangements due to the autopsy and funeral etc and the house and my feelings.

  ; i just wanted to tell you all as my husband's gone for a walk and the children are asleep and i'm feeling scared about viewing his body, but i know i'll have to and i feel guilty for feeling like that.stupid thoughts racing through my mind at the moment-need to 'hear' a friendly voice .

  the february 8, 2003 awake has an article entitled:"is there an unforgivable sin".notice the good news for apostates or those who once associated.

  "some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now apostate fighters against god's spirit.

  they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.

  STEVEN HASSAN "Releasing the Bonds Empowering People to Think for Themselves" along with the good folks on this Forum and the many other sources that have been available through the friends on this site has helped me on to the road to recovery.

  I'm still emotionally torn apart.Because what has happened to me has also happened to my family and friends and the many others whose life stories I have read here and from Free Minds that Randy Watters has sent to me.

  Its been a number of years now since I have come to realize where I have been,where I am now, and the uncertainty of where I am going. Thanks everyone for your Love and Concern. Blueblades
