i know of a couple of elders that regularly went out in the ministry throughout the week.
no matter which street they were on, they always seemed to be near the same spot.

Whats interesting about this double talk is that the scriptures show that ALL who attended partook.There were no OBSERVERS present.
So when they say observers might attend or would attend but not partake they have no scriptural support for this policy or teaching that began in 1935. All who attended the Lord's Evening Meal were partakers.There were no observers.

STEPHANUS, This provision applies to all persons not just the anointed.The society does not want the rank and file to miss the memorial so they can count the numbers.
If for any reason one was to miss the memorial they could celebrate it at home privately, or a month later.Not many of the rank and file are aware of this.I'm sure you know about this . Blueblades

i just came from our lunch break room where the tv was turned to the channel (maybe all have it on) covering the memorial service of the astronauts that died.. i thought back to a conversation i had with my mother the other day.
she made the point that we all stopped our lives a bit by this disaster whereas the 7-100 (at least) people that die in traffic accidents etc on a daily basis are no more mourned than maybe with a blip in the newspaper and the close family and friends.. the i thought back to "the practice" that i watched last night.

And ask the same questions about God.I question the phrase LOVING FATHER,for no loving father would allow his children to suffer so much.Then again like JOB I have to put my hand over my mouth and say to God I spoke without understanding.And for that I get to grow old and die and whose knows where I end up.I speak not only of myself but all the others who feel likewise.
Hanging death over our heads in all its horrible forms is what I just can't understand, as something a LOVING FATHER would do to his children.
As I write this I have one hand over my mouth because I'm afraid the God of Life will put me to death before old age does me in.Its so frustrating,there is no recourse!

i do not want to sound heartless, but i did not sit and watch the news for hours when i heard the columbia burned up.

so many people have given up families and careers, sold their homes, given away all their money, abandonded their children and are searching for the truth about this most important matter, brothers and sisters.
this is a most serious issue in these "trying times" that we need to resolve.
after all, jehovah is watching us, and we simply cannot piss him off now, can we?

the elders tell you that you must speak the truth, since jehovah hears all and since jehovah hates a liar.
Let me tell you about one Judicial meeting I served on and wished that I never was on it.It involved two congregations.Now when the D.O.heard who it was that was being accused,he said to us ,"He definitely needs to be disfellowedshipped".
This was his directive to us!!! Before we even met with the brother.When everything was said and done in both cong's.JCM.They did not disfellowship the sister, but we did the brother according to the D.O.'s wishes.
Now we met with both the sister and the brother separately and together,six elders,three each from our respective cong.'s.
Later one of the elders who was tight with the C.O. was removed from his position but not disfellowedshipped,the same elder who had previously served on this J.C.M. and who would not approach Jehovah in prayer at the time of investigating this case at that time.
I thought, why would he not open with prayer and petition Jehovah God's Holy Spirit to direct us in this matter even though the D.O had already decided for disfellowshipping before we would meet in the way the F.D.S.and the flock book directed. ( not to mention using the Bible verses planted for just such an occasion).
When it was announced that he was being removed ( the same elder who served on this investigation ) I then realized why he could not pray back then.
The D.O. was angry to say the least, that the sister was not disfellowedshipped as was the brother.He could not understand how the brother's arrived at a separate decision. ( forget about if there was repentance) he did not want to hear of it.He wanted the same disfellowedshipping decision for both. ( the case was of a sexual nature that invovled a group of young ones )
After this I was painfully aware that this policy was not of God's doing but of man and avoided serving on any others. Blueblades

I have lost beliefs and don't feel more spiritual at all.Without the belief system to hang on to ,there is an emptiness in be.I just don't trust belief systems anymore.I'm sixty yrs. old 27yrs catholic 33 yrs jw.I'm back to square one?????????????????????
