  Things That Were "Confusing" To You as A JW

  Hi Mini! What has always bothered me and still does is that Angels ( who haven't been tested for good or bad ) ( and when haven't gone bad still see God ) get to see God and know for a certainty that he is real. Of cause I'm getting this information from "The Bible" a book to me that is ambiguous, ambivalent and confusing.

  Humans, except for those few who were given visions, don't get to see God in some way shape or form. Some claim that they were born again and had an experience with Jesus.

  For most of mankind God is not seen, or, heard from, ever, no matter what kind of holy and good life one lives.No matter what kind of Holy Book they live by. No matter how many years of crying out, praying to God, silence is what they get.

  As a Jehovah's Witness we were taught that you can experience a very deep and personal relationship with Jehovah God.

  In my 30 odd years of serving I must of been delusional and delirious, especially in October 1975.

  2008 and no such relationship exists with God, Jehovah or Jesus.

  Very confusing teaching. What does one have to do to get a "Hello" a "Peek" a "Dream" anything???

  However I do have a very personal relationship with my wife of 40 years

  The dreaded assembly experiences ....

  sitting through the items with experiences at the one day special assembly day last weekend reminded me just how dreadful having to handle experiences at the assemblies were.

  when i was an elder, i used to dread getting assembly assignments that included experiences; they were always so fake.. .

  nothing ever happened in our circuit that was ever noteworthy or outstanding, and you usually ended up re-hashing the same old stuff from years ago.. .

  So sister penniless, sick all the time, tell us how do you manage to make all the meetings and pioneer?

  So brother abuser, tell us how did you manage to overcome your alcoholism, gambling, masterbating, and wife beating?

  So tell us little Johnnie, how do you manage to put in all those hours with school and all that homework you have to do and still prepare for the meetings?

  So tell us brother and sister elderly how do you remain faithful to the no blood doctrine when the doctors tell you that you will die if you don't get a blood transfusion?

  Experiences over the years dealth with the above format.

  And so friends, if alligators and snakes and crocodiles and all kinds of difficulties can't stop our brothers and sisters from making the meetings, pioneering, standing fast etc.etc.etc.

  How are we doing? Lets have a big hand for our dear ones.

  Nov 15 WT - stumbled over a teaching? There's no where else to go!!!

  i just read the nov 15, wt - what a laugh.. so they admit some leave over their teachings and then they say there's no where else to go.

  what a joke - they are liars.. .

  was it a problem with a teaching?.

  Since the writer of this Watchtower article has to remain anonymous and all the writers including the sisters assigned to write these articles must stay behind the cloak of anonymity, it must be the head of the writing department who then passes the article on to one or more of the Governing Body members for approval, yay! nay! etc.

  Its obvious that it is all cut and paste from former articles in their bank of Watchtower articles that are written for this time of the year to set up the 2008 yearbook numbers. Look! See! How many inactive ones have returned to the fold. Our numbers are increaseing!

  My thoughts, 2,000 years since Jesus paid the ransom, still no release for mankind.

  Two things happen when a ransom is paid. One ) Release happens. 2 ) The person being ransomed is dead.

  So, what happened 2,000 years ago when Jesus paid the ransom? #1 did not happen.# 2 ????????????????????????????????????????? you tell me.

  How do I pray? I don't.

  Btw. I don't believe in the ransom doctrine.

  Is it the JW's or the God of the bible you no longer believe?

  i have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.

  there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.

  I no longer believe that the Bible is inspired of God. I have come to the conclusion that the Bible is a historical book. Some of what is written in it could be found in "The Chicken Soup" series. Since the Bible is a man made historical book, so is its different views of "The God" portrayed in it.

  I am no longer captive of a concept concerning the Bible and God. I live my life without concern about being punished because of this. I show concern for all creation and live my life accordingly, reaching out for the "Good".

  LOVE ME TENDER. a young Elvis Presley, what a voice, what heart. There are so many others.

  I remember when they did the top 500 songs over the 4th of July and Labor day weekends and " The Still Of The Night " was number one for years.

  Remember "The World Tomorrow", The Plain Truth Magazine", Herbert W.Armstrong and his son, Garner Ted Armstrong? The whole reversing and confession to their congregations that they were mistaken about Britian and America in prophecy among other things that million put their hope in.

  They swore that the Scriptures revealed such and such about the time of the end, it all went up in smoke. The Watchtower won't go the route of Armstrong and admit that they too are wrong.

  Respectfully, I no longer look to or read the Bible as a guide for what is going to happen to mankind. There is so much ambiguity,i.e. that is, it means this ,no, it means that.

  Life goes on, problems happen every day. Solutions come and go. The Bible has nothing to do with it. The Watchtower Society is one example of proof that they have no insight as to what the Bible means when it says this or that about what some men have wrote in the past history of days gone by.

  you get nothing more from going than you would if you read a publication in the comfort of your home.

  Hi Mini! Maybe you can ask this question next: Which Elder Responsibility Do You Think Is The Most...Boring, Exciting, Difficult? What about the three positons such as, The Po., Sec'ty., and Field Service position.

  To me the school and field overseer positions are the worse ones to have.
